By far the best restaurant in NJ. A hidden gem that needs to be seen and experienced by anyone looking for a Michelin Star level culinary experience. Considering we are in the middle of a pandemic and in the middle of summer, this restaurant did not fail to make our dinner a memorable one. The outdoor seating area was beautiful. The attention to detail was impeccable. They even had A/C to make the temperature perfect outdoors.
Let’s talk about the service: The staff was very attentive and professional. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel very welcomed. The waiter Murat was so great. He was very friendly and funny and very helpful in recommending the best dishes to try. The manager Geoff was very professional and nice to us. He even comped some desserts and after dinner drinks at the end of the night which was unexpected and greatly appreciated. The entire staff could not have been nicer. The chef Roger even came over a few times during our meal to introduce himself and make sure we were enjoying everything! You don’t see that level professionalism and passion for cuisine anywhere! They truly care about their customers’ experience.
Now on to the food! I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. The Food was incredible! The Grand Plateau seafood tower was fresh, beautifully prepared and presented. The Lamb Chops were cooked to perfection. The ribeye was phenomenal as well. The flavors of both were exquisite. We also had the truffle Mac and cheese as a side. It has the be the best Mac and Cheese I’ve ever had. The drinks were amazing. The Basil Smash was delicious! Everything we had was perfect. You can tell the chef and mixologist put an incredible amount of love and passion into everything they make. I had the most positive experience in this establishment. I cannot wait to go back. I’ve been raving about it all week. 5...
Read moreI had high hopes for my dining experience at 130 Club based on the positive reviews I had heard. Unfortunately, my recent reservation experience was very disappointing.
My wife and I made a reservation for 8:15 pm on a Friday night, excited to enjoy a meal with friends. However, a week before our reservation, the restaurant unilaterally changed our reservation time to 8:30 pm without any prior notice. This was already inconvenient, but it only got worse.
On the night of our reservation, just hours before we were due to arrive, we received a call informing us that our table wouldn't be ready until 9 pm due to the previous party running late. This posed a significant problem for us and our friends, who had made arrangements well in advance, including hiring a babysitter.
Faced with the prospect of a late dinner and unable to accommodate such a change in plans, we were forced to scramble for a last-minute reservation elsewhere.
What truly disappointed me, however, was the response from the manager, Angela, when my wife reached out to discuss the situation. Angela's attitude was extremely rude and unaccommodating. When asked if she could rectify the situation by offering us a reservation on another day, she outright refused and ended the call abruptly.
While I cannot speak to the quality of the food or other aspects of the restaurant, I am deeply disappointed by the lack of customer service displayed by Angela and the management team at 130 Club. Despite the positive reviews, my experience highlights a glaring issue with the establishment's customer service standards.
In the future, I hope the management team at 130 Club prioritizes better communication with their patrons and demonstrates a willingness to accommodate unforeseen circumstances. Until then, I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant based on...
Read moreI would put service at 4.5 stars, because the service was good, but the specific waiter had issues I think.
#1. Food was amazing. Very happy with it. Will be back. #2. Service was impeccable. They always had staff around waiting to help. #3. Drinks were good. #4. Great ambiance. #5. Appetizers were pretty small. Sometimes I like that, but they were exceptionally small. I expected at least 3 scallops, but there were two. They were delicious, but most likely not diver scallops.
Only two negatives for our first experience, and one of them really got to me (but not enough to take a star away from this place).
My wife ordered champagne, but the waiter brought out Prosecco and after she said something, he proceeded to tell her she ordered prosecco.. I promise. My wife did not order Prosecco. She hates prosecco. Lol. Not a big deal. He fixed that. But don't tell her she ordered something that she didn't. Almost argumentative, which is weird when a restaurant has such great service overall.
I got a steak and my wife got a burger. The burger came with a nice serrated knife in the middle, in case we wanted to cut it in half.. The waiter cut it in half for us without asking and took the knife away...
The steak came with a butter knife (picture attached). I asked the waiter for a steak knife.. and he said two more steak knives? I said yes.. He brought out two more butter knives. I told him that they aren't serrated and it will be hard to cut my steak. He said they are serrated steak knives... Again argumentative and wrong.. I know a steak knife... I couldn't even cut my hand with it if I went back and forth. My butter knives at home would have cut the steak better, because they have even a slight serration. These had 0 serration.
I think he just needed more training, honestly.
But overall, the...
