I have been going to TPR for the better part of probably 20 years, but something has changed recently. Maybe new ownership or management?
Ninety percent of the time we have gotten take out, almost always without incident. But the past few times there have been issues.
About a week ago we ordered and I got an Italian sub. You know those pre-made sandwiches they sell at 7-11 or the airport that have one slice of cheese, once slice of ham, etc? That's what I got. You literally could have put the contents of both halves of the sandwich on one half it still would have been skimpy. And the bread didn't seem to be the freshest either. I
Just now I got an order to go, including a $20 shrimp dish. It came with four shrimp. And I don't mean the big giant shrimp I mean the size you can get at Shoprite for $8 a pound with 21-25 shrimp per pound. Oh and it had a small side of penne. I thought it it was a mistake but when I went in the guy said that's the correct size.
I get it costs are up, but this is insulting.

Read moreMy friends in Bergenfield took me here a few times for dinner and there's usually no wait for a table. Set at the end of a small shopping center in Tenafly, it is a nice comfortable elegant quiet place with good food. Over the past few visits, I've tried a few dishes, the TPR pizza, lasagna, wings, and different pastas. Overall, it's definitely above average but has some room for improvement. Wings were average, maybe a bit on the smaller side compared to other pizzeria places with a basic sauce. It's a nice appetizer. The sauce is slightly too sweet for my taste and it overwhelms the lasagna and spaghetti but the vodka and the francese sauces were good. Service has been good, but it can be a little inconsistent- there's are nights that are attentive and great and nights that they kinda go missing. I would recommend them in the Bergenfield/ Tenafly area, but would not go out of my way to go alone since I'm coming from the Lodi and...
Read moreAlmost as good as the original Rudys! Very good pizza with crunchy crust, good mozzerella and sauce.. so so so close to the best Rudys! We ate inside during the stupid lockdowns of 2020. No masks! We were able to sit down and eat like normal human beings with no masks! Very good! The dinning room is nice. They have lots of tables. Comfy leather seats. Free yummy bread made fresh and hot.
Pros: Great pizza, almost as good as Rudys Free yummy bread, fresh and hot Free parking Indoor dinning No masks! Friendly employees! Good menu selection
Cons: None
Suggestions: Buffalo wings were a bit too hot. Maybe add plain fried wings and a sweet dipping sauce like Grant St or Rudys. Please add Joes Tea (raspberry, lemon, peach) And please add diet rootbeer and...
