Paulie's Pizza and Wings — Restaurant in Tenafly

4.5 stars. I grew up in Englewood and now live on the border of Tenafly. I had eaten at Paulie's a lot in my teens. I'm not sure exactly when, but a new owner took over in the last decade. I've been meaning to try this place since the new owners took over, but didn't have a chance to until tonight (despite living about mile away). I called at about 6:30 to see what time they were open until and the young man on the phone said 8. I asked if I should order through one if the 3rd party apps or through him, and he said he could take the order and deliver it (I was happy about that because I know those 3rd party apps charge 30% to the establishment). I decided to place an order. We ordered a medium pie and an 8 piece buffalo wings. I told him there was no rush and that he could make us one of his last deliveries. He delivered at about 7:30 and the food arrived hot and fresh. The delivery guy was definitely the owner. He wouldn't even let us tip him! He was super nice. Onto the food. The pizza was fresh and big....the slices were huge! The wings were delicious but a tad salty and I love salt. The wing sauce was great but could've used a little more heat to them. The bleu cheese that came with the wings were really good too. I think the light breading on the wings is what made them salty. Overall we were very very happy (and full). We will def order again! The owner of paulies (the middle aged woman) kicked us out of the hallway next to paulies for sitting down? Apparently it was her chairs but she doesnt own the hallway so there shouldnt be chairs there in the first place. She kicked us out with curse words and even calling us r*s. If you want to eat here, please be aware of the cruel owner who gets in other people’s business for no reason and even committing harsh actions against them. This is not even the first time this type of thing happened to me. One time she rummaged through my friends backpack without permission and wouldn’t let us give it back to my friend unless she got it herself. This place is absolute garbage. There is absolutely no AC, no restroom, rude service. She wouldn't let me take my own back pack and yelled at my friends for sitting outside . keep in mind, they weren't making a lot of noise. she told them that they can only sit outside if they order pizza, but her store was closed. how does this make sense? pizza nova is the better option. such nicer people and crispier pizza. The owner is also quite rude and called my friends the R slur. they don't wash their hands when prepping the pizza. no gloves either. There's little room to sit and it's not clean. the floor is filled with dust that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. Even though it's cheap, it's unsanitary...
