This place has some great cinnamon rolls! They're big and very filling, and I could hardly finish mine. The cream cheese icing was great, but I like that they have a dairy-free topping option in case that's needed for someone. My husband has celiac disease, and eating out can be a challenge and very anxiety-inducing. It was nice to eat here because it's a dedicated gluten-free facility, so we knew even cross-contact with gluten wouldn't be an issue. My husband got the curry chicken soup, and it was delicious, but it did seem to make us both have some indigestion, and I don't know why. So be aware that that could happen to you as well! Could just be from the curry. The cinnamon rolls are fantastic, and I'm glad they offer them all the time, because we were bummed to learn that they only actually serve most of their breakfast items on Saturdays. We drove an hour and a half from our vacation city to visit here, so we were happy they still at least had some of the breakfast food items we had heard about. The service was good, though we did feel a tad awkward when ordering because we didn't really know how things worked at this place yet (normal new-restaurant nerves; no one was rude at all). I was happy to see that they also sell GF items all around the store. Everything from frozen Udi's rolls, to GF oreo-type cookies, to pancake mixes, to pie crusts. That was nice! It was a homey environment and many patrons seemed to already know each other. It was a good...
Read moreOrdered two four inch cakes and some wild berry tarts for my wedding last weekend. We paid in advance since we ordered at the store. We told the woman about how we wanted the cakes to be decorated, they were as simple as it comes a vanilla cake with lavender colored frosting and a chocolate cake with chocolate icing. We requested little dollops on top for the rim since that is what they have pictured on their menu, we figured that would look perfect on our dessert table. When it was time to pick up everything they couldn’t find our order. Cue the panic. After that got that situation taken care of, they could only fine the chocolate cake and the tarts. It took them a while to find the vanilla cake and when we saw it, it was nothing how we told the lady we wanted it to look like when we ordered. The vanilla cake was iced white with a purple boarder, imagine your classic birthday cake (and yes, they knew this was for a wedding). There were no dollops on the two cakes, as they did the birthday piping on both cakes. The tarts were placed on top of each other so there were a few that the bottoms were completely saturated with the jam and unusable. The tarts were extremely crumbly and sandy, which we were really disappointed in since they cost us 36 dollars for 6 of them. The cakes were alright, nothing to write home about almost like a store bought gluten free cake mix. I won’t be coming back here, I will just have to learn how to bake...
Read moreI've been going to this place since it first opened On Campbell station road. It's changed hands and is now a well organized and established business with healthier choices than most places in West Knoxville. Some things can be hit or miss with this place so you might want to get some suggestions. The biscuits on the weekend and biscuit sandwiches like bacon, egg and cheese for example are amazing. They also have very good cinnamon rolls. You can take frozen biscuits home. By the way. We tend to buy a a half dozen or a dozen when we go. They also have a very good chicken pot pie with gluten-free crust. That's amazing. We really like their chicken salad with curry sandwiches. I'm okay with their smoothies and cupcakes are just meh. Some of the cookies are also meh. I like the lemon bar cake and Texas sheet cake was pretty good. I also like they have products that are gluten free in the freezer and dry goods part of the place. It's hard to find some of those items. The people that benefit your life are awesome! I really like how nice people are there and I'm always sensing a positive attitude from the employees. There are a few tables outside and some tables inside, but it's just an all right place to sit. It's not overly comfy. I usually just get it and go. Now that Mama c's is out of South Knoxville, this is the best gluten-free bakery in Knoxville. Kudos to benefit your life for keeping gluten free options available in...
