Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Terre Haute

O.M.G . !! literally the BEST spicy chic sandwich I hav had to date !! (yes really.. !) better than chic-fil-A (yes Really), burger king (who I must admit makes a very tasty sandwich .. !), and even other popeyes locations.. I am not even mad the lobby was closed (yes I am) and the drive-thru line was 4 Million miles long .. !! (yes also kidding ..!) ok, no Im not, the line was all the way to palm beach county, Florida and I got a tan while waiting .. (a'ight, a'ight, yes of course Im Kidding .. !!) so a long line but gosh it moved very fast , I could not believe how quickly it went .. did I mention how cold it was outside .. ?? this was end of jan/2022 and the high all day was approx 20 degrees within the tri-state (mo, il, in) area .. full-on artic blasts (wind/gusts) too, so yes . it . was . flippin . feeezing . cold . so it was cold, long line, closed lobby, and we got to the ordering intercom and latonya did not even budge about giving her name .. she was perky and upbeat and we laughed while ordering .. (my goal was to be her Favorite Customer of the day .. !) hah . we ordered those spicy chicken sandwiches .. also some gravy (dont ask .. I just love that stuff .. I could put popeyes gravy on a piece of cardboard and eat it ..lol) anyway, got to the window and lovely latonya didnt balk at all about me taking a picture .. ! Ryan there too helping and taking the money (he used an abacus..) yes Im kidding abt the abacus !! but we joked there at the window too .. so I love a great working staff and "team" mentality (whoever you are, manager, high 5 to you ! terrific job !!) but of course the ultimate test is in the food .. we drove less than a block and tried our food .. (pls see the O . M . G .. !! above . !!) the sandwiches really were fresh and good and warm and delicious .. I hav loved popeyes spicy chicken sandwiches before but these were just Beyond !! never had them this good and I am NOT embellishing ! I wish I could come to this location every time, but am too far away .. even when I come up north (chgo, ky, mo, indy) .. its still a * hike * but this experience has taught me the Quality of which I could expect from the popeyes spicy chicken sandwiches .. this location really sets the bar .. oh BTW if you go there .. look up ! they hav an adorable 2nd floor veranda over the pay-window .. it duplicates the french-quarter and bourbon street balconies in n'orleans .. look, (Im trying to be funny) but in my reviews, no matter what, PRODUCT QUALITY is what earns my respect .. and everything else is just a cherry on top .. these people hit it out of the ballpark and then some .. if you are in the area, dont hesitate .. this location is the popeyes # 12280 off exit 7 just south of (eastboind) I-70 at 3551 S. US hwy 41 in Terra Haute, Indiana .. tell them capri (the nicest Republican you know !) sent you (and they will charge you double ..) yes ! kidding ! but you will thank me because that spicy chicken sandwich is daBomb .. ! remember .. closed lobby, long line, in the freezing cold, and I am still leaving a glowing 5 stars .. ! the Best Ever ! giv LATONYA a raise (no we are not related) then RYAN a raise .. but giv LATONYA a raise .. plus a bonus ! I call it as I see it (and taste it ..) 5 big fat, yummy, wonderful stars...

I don't normally review fast food restaurants, but with what my family and I experienced recently I feel the need to say something. We love Popeyes, we usually get dinner from them once, maybe even twice a month. A few days ago we drove up to the drive thru and noticed that they were closing early, okay that wasn't an issue there was 30 min till the early close so we weren't worried. We asked for a 12pc spicy chicken family meal and were immediately told there were 6 pieces of spicy chicken left so we told them no thanks maybe next time and drove somewhere else for dinner. Okay, a few days passed, and we go to KFC (And not trying to complain about 2 restaurants at once but there was a 45 min wait there on chicken) so they didn't work out. So yeah we thought okay let's try Popeyes again. What were the odds we face the same issue again? I decide to call them as we drove that way, which from North KFC to Popeyes is 15 to 20 mins as they are opposite sides of town. A lady answers and i ask about the spicy chicken, and she says there wasn't enough but they would go ahead and fry some more as we were on our way. We get there only to find out they DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH. Keep in mind we waited about 3 min to get a response from her after we made our order. My husband, annoyed, was like we called ahead and drove all this way? This girl told us that well they got busy and there was only one cook in the back. We just drove off after that.

Let's clarify, we had been there 2 times in the past week and dealt with the same issue. This was not only frustrating but made us feel like it's no longer worth trying to spend our money at a place that clearly don't care about its customers. We understand they got busy. We understand the kitchen was understaffed. We've both worked the industry before. However, telling someone over the phone you will have it ready when we got there and then just not having enough after they drove from the other side of the city for it... its just rude and...

Ordered and paid through the app and arrived to get my order and was told they didn’t have it. I started to tell the girl what I had ordered, and she was mumbling something. We asked 2 or 3 times what she said. Finally, she said it didn’t matter because they didn’t have my order, and they couldn’t start fixing it until it was paid. I told her it was paid, and I’d be happy to pull up to the window and show my receipt. She said if they didn’t have the order, it wasn’t paid, and she couldn’t do it, but we could talk to the manager if we wanted. We pulled up and showed my receipt, and she walked away mumbling. Eventually she came back and said they had it now, but I couldn’t have Mountain Dew because even though the app said it was available, they don’t even sell that flavor. When we finally received our food, I got my drink, but my husband didn’t get his. When we continued to sit at the window, she finally did open it and get him his tea. I guess we should’ve went through all our food right there at the window because when we got home and started eating, we realized the free chicken sandwich wasn’t there, and one of the strawberry and cream cheese pies was actually apple. Won’t be frequenting Popeye’s after this, which is sad because my husband doesn’t like spicy food so it’s hard enough to get him to go there and now he’ll never go again because this trip...
