I would maybe stay here again as a one night pit stop. For the price it was alright.
Highlights: -Friendly manager -Comfortable mattress -Decent breakfast options.
Lowlights: -Stained sheets -Musty air units -Parking Lot seemed sketchy at night
Breakfast options were better than I expected and the manager was really nice.
There were dehumidifiers in the hallways and maybe they did need them, but so many people talk about the musty smell online. I was dreading it, but couldn't smell anything musty until we opened the door to our room. The room was musty AF and THICK, but luckily we had good weather and could turn the air unit off. It's ONLY the smell from the air unit blowing. Either this place should invest in new units or clean them or maybe the filters need changed? If you turn the air unit off the smell clears up fast. We went to get food for 45 minutes and it was gone upon return.
The king sized mattress was ridiculously comfortable. I slept better here than on my own mattress and Serta padding. Our sheets were stained on one side of the bed. The pillows were not nearly large enough for the bed. The comforter was light and scratchy. We brought our own pillows and a twin comforter which we shared as that seems to be a common hotel problem.
The cable went out 10 minutes after we arrived and was off for a while. Even when it was on it was pretty fuzzy.
A few things could have been renovated inside our room (like bathtub and walls), but other than the sheets and someone's leftover ice cream in the freezer it was really clean.
I'd recommend better lighting outside. It really looked like a seedy place and made my significant other uneasy about letting me go outside alone at night. We were also worried about our new car and belongings inside it. Inside the hotel they had several cameras around.
Other guests seemed nice enough and kept to themselves. It was realllllllly quiet and...
Read moreMy husband, bless his heart, booked this hotel. I really don't have a positive opinion about Super 8 hotels. All he said was Wyndham. It wasn't until we pulled off the highway and saw the establishment that I realized Wynham owns the Super 8 chain. I instantly got grumpy. We decided to check in and see the room before bringing in our things. 1st, there are 3 floors. Where you check in didn't look too bad. Definitely supported a 2 star hotel appearance. As we walked to the elevator, we were feeling positive that this might be alright. As we took the elevator up, we stopped at the second floor just to observe the hallway. Looked ok didn't have a distinctive smell, phew, we're doing ok. THEN the door opened to the 3rd floor. In comparison to the 2 lower levels, this one was questionable. The hallway looked as though it hadn't been either updated or maybe just cleaned well in some time, and it smelled. I can't describe it other than old and musty. Then we entered the room.. #329. The online picture HAS to have been filtered! The bathroom was filthy. You could see someone had been sitting on the bed. There was a decent butt print impression. I will judge places simply by the effort they make to keep the bathroom clean. If they do, I feel there is a better chance of the establishment keeping other places throughout the property clean. Like a restaurant kitchen or a hotel bathroom! The room had an icky smell, and the walls were dirty, too. Nope, it's time to go. We got our money back and out we went. Sitting in our car, I CHOSE the next place, Sleep - Inn by Choice Hotels, which was right across the parking lot. I'll give a review after our stay. If my review impacted your thoughts about booking the hotel, please give me a positive reaction. These help me know if doing these reviews is helpful and worth...
