Edited Nov 21, 2024 to reflect poor quality of food when delivered.
I changed my rating to 3 stars based on a second order I placed that was delivered. I have rated both experiences separately below.
Dine in on July 31
On July 31 I went to Applebee’s Main Street in Tewksbury, MA for dinner with my neighbor. Ordered chicken quesadillas (highly recommend). We both ordered the prime rib dipper. This sandwich has a generous amount of tender, juicy prime rib with american cheese and sautéed onions on a cheddar cheese bun. (Highly recommend) The food was delicious, the restaurant was clean and service was outstanding. The most impressive and highly skilled servers anticipate their guests needs, make sure you have a pleasant, memorable dining experience and they know what to do if the guest has an issue during their visit. Our server was definitely impressive. When I ordered the prime rib dipper, I forgot to mention that I am allergic to mushrooms. The prime rib dipper does not have mushrooms but my friend said her sandwich had a mushroom or two. This happens occasionally which is why I should have mentioned my allergy. When the server checked that see how we were doing I asked him if the prime rib dipper has mushrooms in it. He said it does not. I apologized for not mentioning my allergy when I ordered so the cook could be informed. I told him that my friend had a couple of mushrooms in her sandwich. I told him I would not be able to eat my sandwich. He asked if I would like the cook to make me another sandwich or would I like to order something else. I said no; I do not want to be that guest that complains when they really should have mentioned their allergy when ordering. Our server told me that I was not acting like “that guest”. He said he wanted to make sure I could enjoy my meal so he would inform the cook that I have an allergy and have a new sandwich made. The manager also came to the table to speak with me. I apologized to him saying I know I should have informed my server of my allergy. He said your apology is not necessary. He told me he just wanted to make sure that I was able to enjoy my food. Applebee’s in Tewksbury, MA deserves the five star rating I gave them. Thank you to all of the staff at Applebee’s for making sure I had a pleasant dining experience.
While dining in at Applebees Tewksbury ma does deserve 5 stars; their delivery orders do not. Because the quality of food is inconsistent, I changed my rating for food to three stars.
Delivery order experience Nov 21
On November 21, 2024, I ordered delivery through Uber eats. The French dipper bread was chewy. They did not include the French onion au jus for dipping the French dipper. Not much of a French onion dipper without the au jus to dip it in. For a side, I switched out fries for French onion soup. It was mush. See 3rd picture. The soup had very little liquid. The croutons absorbed all the liquid turning the French onion soup into a nasty pasty lump. (See 3rd picture) The only portion of my delivery order that was edible was the onion rings. The delivery order was a waste of money. A restaurant should consistently serve quality food regardless of whether you dine in or order delivery. I do not recommend ordering delivery from Applebees in Tewksbury ma. If you choose to eat at Applebees, make sure...
Read moreI ordered chicken Alfredo from Applebee’s through DoorDash, and when it arrived, it had no sauce at all — just plain dry pasta, broccoli, chicken and some shredded cheese as you can see in the picture. I’ve ordered this before while dining in there so I know for sure what it’s supposed to taste and look like. What’s funny is that there was a note that came with my order that states if there is anything they(Applebee’s) to improve my experience to please contact(picture is attached) so I did just that. I called the store to let them know, thinking they’d want to make it right. Instead, the manager dismissed me by asking if I ordered delivery and if it was through DoorDash, and when I said yes, he just told me to take it up with them pretty much. His exact words “if you contact DoorDash and let them know the issue they’ll take care of it” That’s unacceptable. DoorDash did their part: they delivered the food on time. The problem was with how Applebee’s prepared the order. I paid nearly $30 for one meal — during a time when everything is more expensive — and it wasn’t even made correctly. This isn’t about trying to get free food if that’s what the manager was trying to insinuate by shifting me off to DoorDash. It’s about basic quality control and customer service and for the manager to shift blame and not even acknowledge the mistake is...
Read moreI always have enjoyed going to Applebee's ever since it opened. Since I work up the street I find myself ordering from here frequently. Some favorites: Appetizers aside...the Chicken Fajita Rollup, Oriental Grilled Chicken Salad Wrap, n Grilled Chicken Breast w/ Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Garlicky Green Beans (I substitute vs Steamed Broccoli...to switch it up), Three Cheese Chicken Penne, and I love all their salads!!! Yesterday I tried a 'Irresist-A-Bowls' - the Southwest Chicken Bowl. Overall it was good, had a lot of flavor and the portion was huge! I will say that I didn't think it would come with just iceberg lettuce (n I got not so great pieces) since it mentioned 'mixed greens'. Only problem for me was it was VERY spicy, my mouth was burning which made it not so great even though it tasted good. The guacamole helped n I added sour cream (it was takeout) to help the burn. I'm gonna get it again n request the chimichurri on the side and not get it with the mixed greens. The tortilla strips were such an added bonus to...
