El Mariachi Mexican Bar & Grill # 1 — Restaurant in Texas

I really hate to leave bad reviews, but my experience here was awful. First impressions upon walking in was a strong chemical smell like the whole restaurant had just been doused in lysol. The wait staff looked miserable to be there which led to a very depressing meal. The chips were decent but tasted store bought. The salsa was spicy yet flavorless. I ordered cheese enchiladas. They turned out to be warm corn tortillas stuffed with melted American cheese covered in a flavorless sauce. The beans were bland, the rice so-so, and what they called a cheese puff on the menu turned out to be a bowl like corn chip filled with more melted American cheese. I didn't eat that obviously. I had to use the restroom after eating and that's when the fumes from the cleaning chemicals really overwhelmed me. My partner and I planned on running to the grocery store afterwards, but I was so sick from the fumes I needed to go home and lie down. My lungs burned and my head was aching. It was really disappointing because the menu looked so promising and the restaurant is so highly rated. It was dreadful though!...

Ordered ahead of time told host I wanted my food to be ready for dine in when I get there he says ok no problem. I get their food is coming out in to-go bag SMDH !! So now I’m eating out of to go containers. Open the chips and salsa STRAIGHT TRASH 💯..chips burned and old salsa bland it was horrible to say the least. Then I opened my fajitas chicken/beef they were mediocre to say the least with only three tortillas. I requested more tortillas and they charged me after your charging me $27 for this meal the least you could do was take care of the customer. I asked for a refill as the waiter handed me my check when I asked for al few tortillas the waiter swiped my ticket to take it and update the charge when he came back he only brought the new bill and not my refill hence he was so concerned about nickel and dimeing me ! Meanwhile I’m thirsty as hell ….. To say the least service was below standard from the host to the waiter either one spoke English quite pitiful food wasn’t that great and I surely won’t be coming back!! A BAD...

Delicious food!!! I had the seafood enchiladas. (Shrimp filled) Professional service.

Unfortunately during my visit someone brought their screeching boy. He wasn't even near my table and it hurt my ears. And he wouldn't stop screaming. But that's not El Mariachi's fault. I feel bad for El Mariachi having such rude customers like that.

Now back to my review. Atmosphere has fun music you'll want to dance to. Table surface was clean. But straws are brought out in drinks already out of wrapper. My straw was clean though, so no big deal.

My meal was filling and the food comes out hot. The plates are hot too so be careful when they're first brought out.

They have three types of Tres leches cakes. One is normal Tres leches, one cake is pink & the other chocolate. Next time I'm here I'm trying the cakes & mango magarita!

Everyone I spoke with at the restaurant was pleasant. They have good, hard workers here. Attentive too.
