I've raved about Tempura to my friends for years. I think they have the best Indian food in this part of town. I eat in at the buffet a lot which is great but order take out more. My staples are the chicken and goat biriyani, palak paneer and chicken karahi. Have ordered from them since they opened. Unfortunately in the last couple of months, the takeout favorites have not been the same. Biriyani containers have gotten smaller from the styrofoam ones and at most two or three small pieces of chicken or goat, essentially just rice, same for the chicken Karachi, not meaty pieces. The glass containers I transferred the food into when i get home used to be full to the top, now half. I just picked up my order of favorites and was disappointed for the third time in a row, makes me think it'sthe way it'sgoing to be. I hope you go back to the quality that made you my favorite. We catered from Tempura for an iftari at our local masjid yesterday. I couldn’t take pictures of everything because it was very busy, but I have to share this review as a highly satisfied customer. We ordered for around 350-375 people but the turnout was much higher and we were easily able to serve everyone. All the guests left very happy. The food quantity was great with trays filled to the brim! The quality was outstanding. From the Punjabi samosas, fried chicken, and lo mein, to the korma, Palak paneer, malai boti… everything was very fresh, very delicious! But the thing that really stood out was the scrumptious beef pulao! It was perfectly cooked with lots of good quality meat. We got their lab e shireen in dessert, and that was wiped out in minutes even though we had lots of other store-bought dessert items too. Tempura Halal Indo-Pak Grill (10640 FM 1960 Rd W, Houston)

Sorry to say the worst food I have had at an Indo-Pak restaurant. It’s a shame how these people used to have the best food have the worst now. The food was stale might have been cooked days before. Besides that it was cold like it wasn’t heated long enough. The tikka was dry and it was cooked days or hours before and I can guarantee it as I know about food and their quality. The only thing good about this place was the server Muntaz, she was so sweet and humble. I honestly don’t know how this place is still open or maybe people don’t know what true taste of our authentic food is supposed to be so they are ordering and eating this terrible food. Mr. Tempura if you really want to run your business right and satisfy peoples taste I suggest you get things right otherwise like tons of other places you will soon be out of business.

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Asrar Bhai, the owner of Tempura, for our son’s Mehendi, and we couldn’t have asked for a more special experience. Asrar Bhai took care of us like family—from the moment we spoke to him, we felt completely at ease. His warmth, kindness, and personal touch made all the difference, and he truly went above and beyond to make our event unforgettable.

The food was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish was packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and prepared with such love and attention to detail. Our guests were in awe of the spread, and many couldn’t stop talking about how delicious everything was—it was honestly finger-licking good!

Asrar Bhai and his team made sure everything ran smoothly, taking care of every little detail, so we could focus on enjoying the celebration. It felt like we were in the best hands throughout the entire event.

A huge thank you also goes to Faisal from Cindy’s Palace, who helped coordinate everything at the venue. Faisal’s professionalism and attention to detail ensured that every aspect of the event was seamless, and his support made a world of difference.

We are so grateful to both Asrar Bhai and Faisal for making our son’s Mehendi a day to remember. They truly made us feel like family and provided service beyond our expectations. If you’re looking for incredible food and a stress-free event, I can’t recommend Tempura and Cindy’s Palace enough.

Thank you again, Asrar Bhai and Faisal, for all your hard work and for making this day so...

I chose tempura for the wedding. Asrar, his manager and staff provided TERRIBLE service and DID NOT COMPLY to the agreement . We booked this venue for 100 guests back in August 2018, paid for 100 guest, but Asrar and his staff CHEATED on serving food portion. They provided food for 60 people. At the time of booking we told the manager that we'd like 20 ppl worth of food packed so we can take it with us(since we came from diff. State). Due to family emergency, only 40 guests showed up at the wedding. With family members, there were total 60 ppl. At the end of the night, the staff told us that they RAN OUT of food. How could Asrar and staff take payment of 100 guests with gratuity, and only make food for 60 ppl? The manager WAS NOT there to answer our questions, staff apologized, but ofc there won't be any refund. Dear Asrar, I gave 1star to this place for not fulfilling YOUR PART of the agreement. Your food was GREAT, no doubt. But if you are running a business, please note CHEATING shouldn't be your moto. I don't wana get into AV system not provided when were told at the time of booking that its included in...
