Went on a Wednesday - steak night, the steak was under cooked - ordered well done, it came medium (I did have 2 edge bites)... I ate the salad & about half the baked potato... I stopped sending food back to the kitchen years ago because if the cook couldn't do it the first time it's not likely to be done the second time & I know how to cook & could easily finish cooking it for lunch the day following... it was very good once it was cooked like I actually ordered it... hubby had crawfish, they were small, hard to peel & tough, as if they were overcooked (ironic) the kid had a shrimp po-boy & scarfed it down - he seemed to enjoy his meal, whereas hubs & I weren't impressed... about the service, the hostess that seated us was busily taking away empty dishes from tables with people, then clearing & cleaning tables after folks left, it was very busy, only a few empty tables, which may have been why it took almost 15 minutes to get our drinks ordered, then another 15 to get them & to take our order... then it took at least another 5 minutes after the food arrived to flag someine to get me some silverware - all the more reason to not send my steak back to be fully cooked as ordered & instead just ask for a to-go box... since this was our 2nd time there, I had hoped for a different outcome, being that the first time wasn't really worth making a second trip, but hubby wanted crawfish... it's all good though, the kitchen guys delivered the food, so it wasn't just sitting in wait for a server to bring it out!
It's kinda loud inside, hard to hear the people at your own table, especially when a group of customers are celebrating & all trying to talk over each other... but all in all, it just wasn't a trip that made me want to go back again... to all who've had a good experience, good for you & thanks for supporting local...
Read moreThe reviews were disappointing when compared to the service and food. I wanted to try a local restaurant and support local businesses instead of chains however the vibe was clear that we were not wanted there. I scrolled through the recommended reviews and the pictures of the food looked appealing. Drove up and saw the parking lot was full which was a good sign. Walked in to be told it was a 45 min wait but we could take the patio which was fine because the weather is amazing this week. Waitress greeted us and I informed her it was our first time here - she took our drink orders and let us look over the menu. Came back several minutes and on the second time pointed out some items that she said were specials and left to take other orders. On the 3rd time was ready to place the order and it took almost an hour to get our food. Something about a mix up with putting our order in the TO GO section but even if that was the case it should have been able to get rectified and plated correctly for a dine in. While finishing up she came back and said that she was going to get the manager to discount the ticket. The ticket came back wrong with a double charge for one of the entrees and not once did the owner come and speak to us. She was making her rounds and talking to what I could only assume were regular customers but, when there is a clear issue in your place of business at the very least address the party. The really disappointing part was that when I was first looking at the menu I was wanting to come back and try the breakfast items. I'll just go back to Pappadeaux for seafood and stick to Another Broken Egg...
Read moreThe sign misled us. A pretty sign with Cormier's Kitchen made me think of a homey place where you'd take grandma. This is a sports bar - TV's, loud with lots of bar height tables. We had to wait several minutes to get the only available table cleared for us. Then it was a long wait to order. The sign said Cajun and Southern food, but there were not many cajun options (the 1st thing on the sign) and they had some fried options, burgers, wings, a large breakfast menu, and a Tex-Mex section (and other things in the mix I dont remember). After we ordered we were told they were out of etouffee - which is really why we went. We saw one table turn over twice while we were waiting for our food - people who came and didn't get good service/attention and left without ordering. We went to the bar to have our drinks refilled. The 2 servers were running around like crazy - they needed help. Sounded like their busboy didn't show. Lots of opening week problems. Over forty minutes after arriving we got our food. Gumbo, chicken fried steak (needs a fresh vegetable side), and shrimp poboy (surprisingly not fried shrimp). It was all tasty. They deserve a 2nd chance to see if the manager fixes his scheduling, ordering and service issues. Don't know that we will be back, though, because of the menu. We can get that mix elsewhere and really wanted a strong cajun menu which...
