I was a regular customer. I know the staff very well and I came here with my family for years, but today was a disappointment and I will never return. It’s December and it’s cold but we being smokers chance it anyway and just put layers on. Upon arrive we see a heater not being used and ask if it works and are promptly told no. That’s fine business as usual (because apparently the heaters never work) and we return to freezing and eating in the dark for several hours. It is Friday and this establishment is bustling with a big crowd on Friday’s. That is fine this neighborhood also has a very Caucasian crowd which is also fine, but what isn’t fine is the treatment of their Caucasian crowd vs us who are African American. After sitting and freezing trying to enjoy ourselves for these painful hours a white family soon joins us outside and the lights flicker on and the shade barriers are brought down to block the wind. It was strange to me because we’ve been out there since 3:00pm and it’s now 6:00pm and the atmosphere/ comfort level of the patio has completely changed into something tolerable. We continue our conversation and see OUR waiter who has served me and my family multiple times rush to the lovely Caucasian families aid and fiddles with the heater even attempting multiple times to tape down a button to make it work. We are in awe of it finally working but then it start to set in that the heater is for them even though we had been sitting there for hours. We ask for a manager and the assistant manager MARIA a women who claims to know me (which I’ve never seen before) comes and explains how she doesn’t know how it works and doesn’t know anything about the heater that I’m staring at as she talks. She explains that she does not even know how it’s even on right now. She then explains that they move it to the middle of the room (when it does work) so tables could share the comfort, but there that heater sat under the other guest table and didn’t move not one bit. I like to have a relaxing quiet evening with my family, but I know when smoke is being blown in my direction. I explain how Unjust this is and how unfair I am being treated as a loyal customer. I tell her to get the General manager who I do know and she disappears and tells me SHE IS TOO BUSY WITH AN ORDER TO ADDRESS ANY OF MY CONCERNS ON THIS MATTER. I have ordered food and a drink. I don’t like to make a scene but as I stared at the heater still hovering over the lovely Caucasian family I realized that they only hop and jump if the color of your skin is fifty shades of pale. We explain we don’t want to pay for the service and we don’t want the food and she tells me “do what you have to do and I’m going to do what I have to do” she threatens my family and follows us to our cars to get our license plates. So I will never return I enjoyed many dates here and it’s unfortunate, but I will not tolerate racism which was only included when she told us “I’m not racist I have a black son! I understand!” As tries to call the police! She clearly does not understand and is only willing to make stuff work or happen if you’re white. So I advice anyone who does not pass the paper bag test to not spend your money at such an...
Read moreI have been a long time customer of Del Pueblo. Years ago, the food was wonderful, always hot, fresh, and the atmosphere was great. However this has all significantly declined in the past few years. Several months ago, I ate in at their restaurant and found the service to be lacking, the waiter to be rude, and the quality of the food not so good. Tonight, I decided to give the restaurant one more try, and ordered online via DoorDash. My food arrived quickly, however everything was terrible. This was not the fault of DoorDash. The fajita queso was not only cold, but was the consistency of heavy glue, or silly putty, like plastic that couldn’t even be stirred. As they had placed all the fajita meat on top of the plastic cheese, it was like stirring heavy putty to mix the fajita meat in, and even after several microwave attempts it was unable to be accomplished. The amount of puddling grease all throughout it was disgusting. The two crispy meat tacos I ordered, also arrived cold and with the taco shells soggy. I was unable to even hold them up to eat them without them breaking all apart and dumping spoiled meat everywhere. The meat had a terrible odor as well as their side container of green sauce. The sour cream I ordered was warm and heavy, nothing like the consistency of what sour cream should be. A total waste of money as all items were thrown in the trashcan for fear of getting terribly sick from all the grease or possible food poisoning. This was the worst I’ve ever seen. While I’m a firm believer that many restaurants are better when you actually dine in rather than ordering through a delivery service, this was not the fault of DoorDash, but purely the fault of Del Pueblo. Please see the pics below. Not only will I never order online from them again, I won’t be...
Read moreIve have been coming to this restaurant for over 10 yrs. Today I decided to order a margarita for the first time, the taste was horrible. I thought it was because the flavor was strawberry; therefore, I asked the waiter if I could get a traditional margarita. He brought it over, the taste was still strange, it taste like rubbing alcohol. Just before paying the waiter asked if I would like to speak with the manager to have the drink removed. He even notice that I didn’t drink it. Mind you… I never asked for the manager but I told him that was fine.
So…. This woman walks straight to our table with a bad attitude. She said “what’s the problem with this drink because you had a problem with the first one too”. I had to pause to gather my words before acting out of character. First and for most I did not ask for her to be called, the waiter suggested it. Secondly, she was not professional at all, especially with her broken up English. I was shocked that a person with such bad professionalism could be a manager (her name BLANCA).
I would’ve thought that when she trained for her position, the first thing she (Blanca) would’ve been taught “listen to the customer FIRST!!!” Don’t just walk up to the table with a bad attitude. I honestly felt like I was being attacked. Hell, I even lost my train of Thought for a second smh
What I’ve learned through bad experience is what they call “house margaritas” is made with cheap alcohol (like Everclear), that’s the reason it taste strange… I was unaware that I needed to request for 1800 and etc; which the call top shelf. That’s not top shelf liquor. Yes, I will be speaking with the district manager because Blanca only provided me with the restaurants phone number and stated that her “boss” would be...
