Earnest Donuts — Restaurant in Texas

I strongly recommend readers not to come here. This is my first negative written review in my life, and I am almost 40 years old. I believe mistakes happen and forgive easily. I had one of my worst customer experiences with the owner of Earnest Donuts. I have been coming here almost every Friday morning for the last 6 months. I order primarily custom and character donuts for my two children. My kids call it Donuts with Daddy and it has been very rewarding for me. Last week, they messed up on my custom order. I let them know but didn't ask for anything because I was in a rush. This morning I went in to talk to the owner. I just let her know that she messed up on my order. She quickly became defensive and told me why I was wrong instead. I told her simply that everything would be good if she comped we for two donuts (which probably would only cost her a dollar or two). She became very rude. I told her I was not going to argue with her and explained her mistakes which were obvious. She kept being rude and then one of her young employees walked over and very rudely told me to leave. The owner told me I was her "worst customer". I mentioned that I have come to her establishment every Friday for several months and never once complained. They even misspelled my daughter's name on a donut one time, and I told them not to worry about it. The owner continued to be rude and I told her I was going to leave. I was so sure I had left a review but shocked I didn’t. I was probably too busy eating their amazing donuts! I’ve been here at least 25 times already. These truly are the freshest and best donuts around!!! I called ahead of time because my ETA was 11:57am knowing they close at 12- they stayed open for me. I go almost every week with my son, and it never disappoints. Their service and donuts are both 5/5. Only one time, I felt the donuts were dry and called to let the staff know. The next time, the owner recognized me, and gave me my order on the house. I would highly recommend you do special orders or regular stops here. They even have donuts that say Happy Birthday- perfect to make someone’s day!! They’ll always offer to add filling if they don’t have it out. I have yet to try the coffee, but I know they use coffee ice cubes instead of water ice cubes! At the end, they’ll always throw in a few freebie holes or a donut, and that always makes my day! It's a trap! Donut addiction. I had never thought about coming to this little donut shop that I pass every day going to and from work. One weekend I was looking for a fancy donut place and this pulled up as five stars. I had to stop. The prices range from $1-4 a donut, worth the extra dollar cost. Between me and my friend we have sampled several of the donuts and today I just went for round 2. The s'mores donut is probably my favorite, I love everything s'mores but nothing has been more s'mores like to me than this donut. Definitely worth a try. Another top contender would be the cheesecake donut with the berries on top. It was absolutely delicious.. and if you like coffee, you have to try their coffee glazed donut.
