I must be one off here - I ordered takeout and beef teriyaki was one of them. It had within the container (3 slots) the following: beef, white rice, AND white rice. And then ANOTHER white rice on the side. Vegetables should have been in the box. This was our very first time here - baffled and confused, we decided to call. The guy said he would give us vegetables "next time", like there will be next time and he'll just remember. No apology. I mean, how could you put scoops of white rice twice in the box where you usually put vegetables? Whose mistake was this?
Food wise, beef was bit too sweet and overall decent but nothing special.
UPDATE (response to the owner's reply):
I am confused. You just replied and said the beef order doesn't come with salad but then later said,
"Third our beef order comes also with side salad & salad dressing that's packaged in a completely separate container. which your mother received along with everything else she ordered"
This is exactly what I am trying to tell you - we NEVER received the salad ANYWHERE in the bag. Recall I said above we got THREE scoops of white rice, two in the container, one on the side (per you, "completely separate container". Is this where salad should have been put in?).
It's interesting because I am the one that ordered at the cashier, paid, and put my name on the order. You make it sound like my mother did all the talking in Korean while I just stood behind her whispering. And then later hit you with this post lol. Anyways I will adjust my rating since you seem like good people and there seems to have been some level of miscommunication.
Thank you for offering a free salad credit.
UPDATE #2:
I actually don't think that you're the same person I saw at the cashier.
Befuddled that you keep slipping in "we put salad and dressing in the bag" in your last sentence after all these exchanges and a phone call as if we're making things up lol.
Not interested in your refund. This is unreal lol.
UPDATE #3:
The owner in her response accused me of posting unpleasant pic of the food but I posted the image as is. Look at the beef. It's mushy. It wasn't even cooked on a grill. This must be a frying pan or something.
That combined with
Personality attack ("you were whispering") which had nothing to do with a missing salad lol A lie that I wasn't saying a word when it was all me who ordered, paid, and took the bag.
Led me to believe this is a person looking out from the kitchen, not the cashier that interacted with me. It's...
Read moreFirst time here, and it definitely won't be the last! From the time you walk in, you are transported to a completely different realm. This place has amazing vibes and you can definitely feel the energy flowing through it. The ambiance is chill and is somewhere you can easily relax and unwind.
We were greeted and graciously welcomed at the counter by Lisa - one of the owners - who suggested several of their popular menu options. Everything looked so good. Thankfully, I browsed the menu a few days prior to today's visit to prevent any indecisiveness. We promptly ordered at the counter and chose wherever we wanted to sit. We pretty much had the entire place to ourselves since it was 11AM and they had just opened.
Mom ordered the medium spiced chicken teriyaki Wednesday lunch special. Came with a spring roll, side salad with a tangy delicious dressing, and a choice of rice. All excellent. Mom enjoyed it. The flavor and the cooking technique shined through and never once became dry or tough.
I ordered the Seattle Roll. Before it arrived at the table, Lisa brought a cup of Miso Soup for me to try. It was flavorful and just the right temperature. Smooth from start to finish. Salmon, Avocado, and Cream Cheese - deep fried with spicy mayo on top. Perfect accompaniment with the teriyaki dipping sauce. Both excellent!
It is clear that they care about customers and the enjoyment of their food.
Before leaving, we purchased two t-shirts. I love how soft they are. We will enjoy wearing them, and think of the food we had and return for subsequent visits.
Will definitely be back to try other menu items. Thank you Lisa, Richard, & Julia - see...
Read moreI moved to the Dallas area from Seattle about 3 years ago and I have missed Seattle-style chicken teriyaki SO much.
The other day, I was stopped at a stop light on Josey Lane when a really sweet lady (whom I now know to be Julia, one of the owners) rolled down her car window, signaled me to roll down my window, and said she saw my Washington license plate, and told me she owned a Seattle-style teriyaki restaurant on Windhaven. I told her I’d check it out, but I forgot to ask what it was called 🤦🏻♀️. I searched on Google for the restaurant and found it! I told my husband we HAD to go and get some chicken teriyaki.
Y’all. I almost cried when I took the first bite of that chicken teriyaki, because it tasted so much like home 🥹. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. The chicken is very tender and the little bit of char from the grill adds a lot to the flavor. The rice is perfectly cooked - sticky and tender. It’s a nice big portion for $12.95! We also ate gyoza. The gyoza sauce is really good. It has a touch of sweetness, which is what I prefer with gyoza. Their teriyaki sauce is DELICIOUS. Spot on Seattle-style Teriyaki, for sure. They sell all their sauces too, so I ended up buying a bottle of teriyaki sauce and gyoza sauce to take home!
The service was very friendly and quick. Chef Julia is so sweet, and everyone there is wonderful. They seem to have a lot of regulars, which is a great sign! They definitely gained another couple of regulars (my husband...
