Jade Garden — Restaurant in Texas

Everything was good except for the General Tso’s chicken, which tasted rancid—completely inedible. I called the restaurant, not to ask for a refund, but simply to let them know there might be a serious quality issue with the chicken and they should look into it so no one else gets sick.

Instead of taking the concern seriously, I was told several times that “maybe this is your first time having it and you just don’t like it.” That kind of dismissive response, along with no apparent interest in checking the quality of the food, is unacceptable. And: Yes I do know the difference between fresh chicken and rancid chicken-I also am very aware of what this dish tastes like / I’m in my 40’s and have had this dish on and off for the past 25 years-fortunately this is the only time I have tried it made with rancid meat. I have eaten here several times and the food has always been great. Unfortunately, my last visit on August 2, 2023, the food was very different; I dined in at the restaurant. I always get the Sweet and Sour Chicken, which were moist and tender pieces of white meat. The Sweet and Sour Chicken I got on August 2, 2023, were fried chicken tenders, which were stringy and tough. I only ate one at the restaurant, took the rest home, and ended up throwing them away because they were just too hard to eat. In addition, the TV was on a Chinese/Japan food channel, where the host was speaking Chinese/Japanese, and the closed captioning was also Chinese/Japanese. Trying to understand what was going on was senseless. Either watch American TV shows or at least have the closed captioning...

How have I not reviewed this place sooner? Guess back in the day I didn't review places as much as I do now.

Anyways this place is amazing! Food is always high quality and taste stays consistent. After a decade eating from here, everything still tastes great! Why change what works?

Interior is clean and simply decorated, not over done. Service is professional & attentive.

Dishes I recommend? Lo mein and General Tsos! Jade Garden's General Tsos is unique, it's listed as spicy but it's not over powering. (And I'm someone who doesn't like pepperoni!)
