The family met up at Hopdoddy’s for dinner this past Sunday night. Upon entry, it took almost 15 minutes for us to get to order at the counter, waiting on only 2 parties in front of us. My mother went to find a table, as she’d gotten tired of standing. When the party in front of us finished ordering and we walked up to order, the lone cashier just walked away. She was gone for 3-4 with us just standing there. I get that she might be doing multiple jobs, but to not even say “please hold on, I’ll be right back with you,” was disappointing. When she finally came back & we ordered, it was apparently the most complicated concept possible when she tried to find us a table and we told her that we already had one and pointed it out. I asked to get a table number and she told me we didn’t need one, while all other tables I saw had one. That was a lie. We watched someone walk all the way around the restaurant looking for where to drop my dad’s beer. They brought incorrect burgers to our table twice and then 3/4 through our meal with everyone still having their meal in front of them, a server walked up with chicken tenders and asked who had them? Obviously we did need a table number because what on earth. I had ordered the special birria burger that’s supposed to come with the juice to dip with the burger. I had to go tell the kitchen window I didn’t get the juice and they then told me they were out. Why did they sell me that burger then??? Without the juice, it was the DRIEST burger I have ever had in my life. Just abysmal. We were still going get shakes on the way out, but decided not to risk waiting 20 minutes to order something again. Just a really bad experience, and I’d drive into town to another location...
Read moreHonestly, I expected more because of the hype. My wife and I walked in and waited to be seated. No one came up to us, so after a few minutes I flagged someone down, she asked do I want a menu to order. I said, well I’m eating in, she said yes it’s ok but order first, then we’ll give you a table. So, I stood around with a crowd of people and a menu in my hand not knowing where the line was or waiting for the people in front to order, I guessed, they were going to order. Anyways, my wife and I were not comfortable. Then I had to order at the counter.. with a big screen that asked for a tip. I said I’ll leave tip cash.. we’ll no cash, big sign said it. (Good luck with that). So, I said well I asked the guy at the register, how should I tip if I haven’t had service? He said he didn’t know, and reached over and clicked NO TIP.. then pointed to the table where I need to take myself. when order came they just said the meal name, placed it in the table and quickly walked away. The burger was tasty but small to me. The description said “DOUBLE BACON JAM”!! And I saw or tasted NO bacon this night. My wife assumed the sauce had shredded bacon, but needless to say, I went home still craving bacon. My wife’s burger was medium rare, but she never ordered that.. since we had no one checking the tables, I guess changing it would require me flagging someone down. She just ate it. For the record, the bowl is literally a whole lot of lettuce with literally a whole burger patty on top.(see picture) I’ll stop, here.. To be fair, the prices were...
Read moreHopdoddy used to be one of my favorite burger joints, but things started going downhill and I just haven't been back since before covid. So when I saw that they had a Birria burger, figured it was time to give them another chance. Well didn't go to well. Started out with the queso fries and as usual they were spot on (fries ordered extra crispy and delivered extra crispy). Queso fries and other fries were delivered right after we sat down (never understood why they always bring the non appetizer fries out first). Good thing they were because it took over 35 min for the burgers to be brought out. When the burgers arrived there were several issues. 1) my wife's burger was requested medium rare and it was well done (sent back and corrected) 2) both birria burgers arrived without consume, chorizo and pickled onions. I took the burgers back to the window and they were returned shortly with the chorizo added to them. When I asked about the pickled onion and consume I was informed they were out of them. Now to be picky, that is a deal killer. They should not have been sold as such if they didn't have the ingredients. I asked for the manager and gave her the burgers and requested she just refund me back. She asked if we wanted another burger, but by this time the table was almost done and wasn't going to wait around for a replacement burger when the first set took so long. So looks like Hopdoddy missed out on...
