Nestled in the heart of the city, the restaurant I had the pleasure of visiting left an indelible mark on my taste buds and my heart. The food is amazing! It’s always good. We come here a lot as it’s near our home but I have not yet left a review because often the waiters aren’t 5 star but maybe today is a good opportunity for some feedback so it can improve.

The bad ☺️….Often it’s just having to request your entire order being delivered (missing items) or empty glasses. Though the staff is friendly there is a slight breakdown in speediness of their return after your order has been delivered. (delivered by runners, not waiter)

I’ve also noticed the request to take your name & phone number even when there is no wait. It seems unnecessary…personal preference I guess?

Well, today it was beneficial at keeping track at how long we waited for initial contact from a waiter. I was sat at 1:05pm and received the text at 1:06 pm. I did not receive initial contact until 1:31 pm. Even with what looks to be 3 managers having a meeting directly across from me and more employees in here than guests. (7 tables) It’s not overly busy and yet everyone including the girl who sat us walked past us many many times busy! It was hard to even grab someone’s attention to request our server because they are moving with intention. Today I watched, what is it that is creating the breakdown in waitstaff, I honestly think it’s cleaning, and preparing for closing. At 1:47 a girl wearing pink headphones asked me to remove the syrup from our table. This happened prior to my waiter coming back to my table so I could ask for a refill. ☺️ why are you guys closing up like this? Why aren’t the waiters focused on serving?

Our waiter came to the table at 1:50 to ask us “anything else” and handed the ticket. I asked for a refill at that time & our to go food which I ordered with our order. He forgot and went back to the kitchen with our receipt to put it in to cook. We walked out at 1:57 with our food to go. The food comes out quickly!

This does not change the food, it’s still incredibly good and the service is just not awesome but also not horrible.

There’s room for improvement but I think this is a breakdown in what is expected of the wait staff is taking their attention away from the actual service of...

We have been coming here every Sunday for a very long time. I don't expect perfect service anywhere I go. The workers are humans, they are a very busy location and I see they try their best. Until the past 3 weeks everyone has been from good to exceptional, except this one waitress. I do not know her name, and even if I did, I wouldn't share it. My goal is not to blast her out, but rather to make the manager/owner aware of her attitude, so employees can be better trained, especially in circumstances like this - I am pregnant and simply asked the waitress to please make sure the egg is fully cooked; her response? "I can't see that". I nicely said, I know you can't and I don't expect you to pull open my sandwich to check, but please make a note for the cook. I mean they normally do ask "how do you want your egg cooked?" so I figured it's not unheard of request. The order came out, and not only that the egg was super runny, it was not even the dish I had asked for. She brought 2 of what my friend order which was a runny egg and deli meat - both of which I would not have ordered. This goes back to what I said earlier, people make mistakes. I was not upset at the wrong order, but she didn't even apologize. I had to wait an additional 15-20 mins until my correct order came out and my friend would not eat her food so that we can eat together. That meant she had to eat her food cold. I mean how do you not apologize? The week prior we had the same waitress and all we asked is to switch the whole grain toast to sour bread toast and she said "we can't do that". Everyone else did it for almost a year of us coming in every Sunday, but with this particular waitress apparently this was unacceptable. I won't go into details about the other stuff as they are small things here and there. We do not want to cut a whole tree for a bad apple and will continue coming as everyone else seems fine and the food is delicious. We will simply ask to not be seated...
