UPDATE:::::

WOW 🤩

I was having an issue with getting the app to allow me to redeem a meal so I had to pull forward and Eric greeted us at the window with a bright smile and asked how he could help me!

He went through and obtained the information he needed and our meals were zoomed out (including straws and napkins)! I had planned for my daughter to join us, but I instead introduced Laynes to our HR director who is A NEW FAN šŸŽ‰ Layne’s Canes for the win AGAIN

The chicken was seasoned perfectly! The toast was garlic toasty - not soggy!! I got my delicious XL chocolate shake in…..MY MOST FAVORITE PLASTIC CUP!!!! ā€œGiving the Fingerā€ y’all

I have my FAVORITE plastic cups back and so excited about this!

I saw bright and smilin’ Daniel and he said Hi šŸ‘‹ He remembered me….

This visit was a complete 180 from the last and woooohoooooo! We’re BACK babyyyy!!!

Thank you. Seriously. Thank you.

Initial review….. Absolutely disheartened by this location the last 3 visits. I drive a good distance to come to Layne’s. This time I would have left a 5* review if Daniel would have been at the window; however, there was a less than lively, young female working the window when we pulled through to purchase our initial two 5 piece meals. She seemed confused about everything we asked. We order large drinks every time we visit as I enjoy the plastic cups :) Unfortunately she told us that Laynes no longer has those. There was even confusion over drink sizes for some reason. She handed us our meals, with no straws and no napkins. We had to pull around and go in to get the missing necessities. Not really what you want to do when you are grabbing meals in a drive thru.

After we ate the meals, we pulled back through to order 3 more 5 piece meals and an XL shake. This time Daniel greeted with a warm smile and an awesome, personable interaction! Our meals came out, straws in hand, added on a shake and received it promptly! Hopefully, this can be addressed as we really do lov...

Did you know Laynes was founded in College Station, BEFORE Canes? Complete game changer for me, I love rooting for the underdog, and it makes no sense Laynes line isn’t wrapped around the building.

Check out that 5-Finger meal; they don’t skimp. It is definitely enough to split for two people, but I’m gonna do my best to finish it sans all the fries+toast. I’ve already eaten a couple fingers and some fries, and while it’s still fresh, I have to say this meal is completely šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„

Austin, my order taker, absolutely made my day, and I feel bad for whoever’s name I didn’t get from the drive through, she got my order right, and they were both spectacular and friendly.

As far as the food goes; let’s get it popping:

Tenders - Tender, a bite with no sauce is still delicious, these wings are great.

Sauce Options - Ranch, Layne Sauce, Honey Mustard And BBQ Sauce.

Ranch is always good, but you come here for the Layne Sauce. It’s delicious.

The honey mustard, is creamy, it grabs the tender perfectly, and it’s flavor is very balanced with each bite of tender or fries.

BBQ Sauce - Tastes suspiciously like sweet baby rays, which is a positive. It rivals McDonalds BBQ Sauce which is another compliment.

Fries - They aren’t trying to be special, they are just the perfect vessel for all the amazingness above. Their crinkle cut fries are salty on their own and made just right. They are normally cooked ā€˜al-dente fried’ where they are at that critical point right before they get too fried and crunchy, I’d bet if you like them crunchier than average they can make it happen.

Knowing that Laynes is Texan based(College Station), came before Canes, is without a doubt going to affect my decision when I want fried chicken again. Even though I have to work extra hard for this meal when I workout, this sure was a treat.

Overall this place is hands down a 5/5. They have rewards programs and promotions semi-regularly so sign up and start...

I had never been to a Laynes before until this day. And man was I impressed. I had heard people say it was better than Canes, which as a fan of Canes, I believed Laynes was good, but as someone who lives 30 minutes away, I genuinely think I will be making this trip every time I want chicken instead of 15 minutes to the nearest Canes. The chicken was juicy, tender, crispy, and seasoned, and the spicy chicken had a nice kick to it, but was drowned in spicy like some other chicken places. Seasoning belongs on your food, not stuck to your fingers. The fries were phenomenal, and unlike Canes, every single fry was crispy, and even after sitting there for 20 minutes while I was eating, still weren't soggy. I tried every sauce while I was there, and my top three (in ranking order) was the Barbecue Sauce at number 1, Laynes Sauce at number 2, and their Ranch at number 3. The service was amazing here, and they had people coming around every 10 minutes or so just to check up on you, pick up dishes if you are done and so forth. Was greeted with a smile when walking in, and was parted with a smile walking out. The workers here are absolutely wonderful. 10/5, will absolutely come back here again....

I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at Lane's Chicken Fingers off Midway and 121. Despite being the last customer, my food took an eternity to arrive, and when it finally did, the gentleman at the window was too busy cleaning to pay attention. To make matters worse, my food was cold and unsatisfactory. The chicken wrap was soggy, and the 7 or 8 fries I did receive were were ice cold. I was unaware that the restaurant was closing, but even so, it was still disheartening to receive such poor service and food. The open sign was on, which added to my confusion and frustration. In my opinion, Lane's Chicken Fingers needs to improve their service and make sure that their food is up to the standards of their customers. Additionally, they should consider adding a sign that states their closing time or that they may not provide the best service close to closing. Overall, I would not recommend this establishment and would advise others to find a better place to get their chicken finger fix.

UPDATE Feb 2021. Back again for weekday lunch while doing errands in the area. We each got the 3-finger basket which is plenty and made leftovers as well. Watch where you park during weekday lunch as you might get trapped by all the drive-thru trade. Most customers were there for drive-thru. OooRah! They are open for dining in again although limited seating for now due to virus crises. Great 1st impression here for our first visit to any Layne's location. We got the 3 chicken strips which was plenty for lunch and some left over for next week. Switched out the fries for cold slaw. Order was served very quickly and very hot, nice touch. Beverage machines as usual with free refills on counter. I took a number of interior photos for your info.
