Teapioca Lounge — Restaurant in The Colony

Was hanging out with my mom when the boba craving hit us and we decided to stop here.... I really wish we hadn't because ALL of the drinks we ordered were awful. Everyone with us said the drinks tasted like everything except for the "flavor" they were supposed to BE. I personally got the matcha frappuccino or whatever they called it, and it was awful. The drink was pale, tasteless, and not even green? It was a muted nasty pale yellowy color, like they just put in a pinch of matcha (maybe it's precious to them). Now for the WORST part, the tapioca, pearls, boba whatever you wanna call it, EW!!! They didn't have a pleasant taste whatsoever, they were (not sure how to explain it) bitter? but also tasteless? The ones from YogoPang in Plano are slightly sweet and satisfying to chew, same with Delish Bubble Tea, BobaRepublic AND Fruitealicious. Went in with my daughter after getting pedicures a couple of doors down. Full menu has lots of options; juices, teas, coffees, & smoothies. We got smoothies, and they were really cold & delicious! The space is larger than some other smoothie shops we've been in & has a modern, minimalism style, but still manages to be cozy & inviting by way of big, comfy chairs and natural elements. Stickers on the floor help patrons maintain proper social distancing guidelines, & face masks are required. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that they did not have hand sanitizer available to customers. After an "almost touchless" transaction, it would have been nice to have that added layer of safety. I really do enjoy all of the flavors I’ve tried so far, and the Boba is made perfectly! I have been coming to this location on and off for the last year.

My main concern is how long The wait is. They seem to be understaffed-every time I’ve come.

If there are only two customers it’s at least a 10 minute wait. That has been my experience for the last year.

I continue to come however when I have time, because I know it takes a lot of time to get this Boba,& I do enjoy it. As well, it’s a convenient location for me.
