Lee's Cafe — Restaurant in Texas

Maybe it was just a bad day, or Covid has forced them to use lower-quality ingredients, but my last visit was pretty disappointing. My family's been eating here for ~15 years as our go-to Chinese takeout restaurant. We've collectively agreed to start trying new places, though, because Lee's has changed their recipes/ingredients over the years to the point that it's no longer tastes like it used to. Here are some takeaways from our last visit:

The rice is still good!

I like the fortune cookies better now than before. They used to be more proverbial, but now they're more "mysterious future readings," sort of.

We haven't tried their Thai dishes, so maybe it's just the Chinese recipes that are weak. Or, maybe it's the meats in general?

Definitely stay away from the beef dishes for now. The meat had a very weird chewiness to it and I wretched a bit trying to eat it. The chicken was amazingly...

I am missing my mum homemade Thai food until I found this Asian Chinese mix with Thai cuisine here. I tried their Thai yellow curry- so delicious, aroma coconut milk with potatoes, carrot, onion and ck($9.95). My friends had the mee fun which is stir fried skinny noodle with some veggies and brown sauce $8.95, very yummy. And we also order Lo Mien with beef and some veggies $8.95. We had tried Lo Mien at all the Chinese restaurant we went, Lee's cafe Lo mien is very yummy, not dry not too greasy , it is perfect. Of cause, the chefs are human, not robot, they can't make food exactly the same taste every time, but at least so far it is very good. I want more .lol . We love noodles, and their noodles dish are our new like!! Terrific!! We even ate those noodle with some curry sauce, heaven ! Yummy!! I come back to try...

I had no problem with the service provided by the woman who took my order or the man who delivered it.

I requested onions be left out of 2 dishes, and they were.

I ordered the Mongolian Delight lunch special with Egg Drop Soup and an order of chicken fried rice in case i didn't like that.

Portion sizes are good.

The meats have no flavor. They don't taste like they had any seasoning added during cooking. Everything is cooked nicely but a little seasoning would bring out the flavor of the meat.

Also, plenty of chicken and beef...but it was supposed to be chicken, beef and shrimp...and there were only 2 shrimps...
