Food Quality MOD Pizza’s food focuses on customization and consistency rather than artisanal craftsmanship. The crust is thin and crisp at the edges, soft toward the center—good for a quick-serve pizza but without the complex flavor or char you’d find in a wood-fired or long-fermented dough. The tomato sauce is bright and slightly tangy, designed to appeal to most palates, though it lacks depth compared to slow-simmered sauces. Cheese is creamy and serviceable, and the wide range of toppings—everything from classic pepperoni to arugula, roasted veggies, and finishing drizzles—gives customers freedom to experiment. The biggest culinary strength is the ability to create bold, layered flavors through variety, even if the base components lean more toward fast-food reliable than chef-driven gourmet.
Hospitality & Atmosphere Hospitality is where MOD stands out among fast-casual chains. Staff typically greet guests with enthusiasm and guide newcomers through the build-your-own process. The open kitchen format encourages interaction, creating transparency and energy. MOD also emphasizes inclusivity in its hiring, and that culture often shows in how employees engage customers—with warmth and authenticity rather than robotic service. The atmosphere is lively, casual, and modern-industrial, making it a welcoming spot for quick lunches, family outings, or casual group gatherings.
Speed of Service The brand promotes itself as “superfast pizza,” and in many cases it delivers—your pizza can move from dough press to oven to table in under 10 minutes. However, service speed is inconsistent. During peak hours, bottlenecks in topping selection or oven capacity can make the wait noticeably longer, which sometimes clashes with the expectation of quick service. To MOD’s credit, staff generally keep a positive tone during busy times, but guests should know that “superfast” is relative to workload. What MOD does guarantee is that when your pizza arrives, it’s hot, fresh, and made exactly how you ordered it—something worth a few extra minutes compared to reheated slices at traditional fast-food pizza outlets.
Value This is MOD’s strongest selling point. The flat-price model means you can add unlimited toppings without an upcharge, making it one of the best values in the fast-casual pizza space. The portion size of a MOD pizza (11”) is generous for one person and can be shared by lighter eaters. Ingredient quality is consistent, if not gourmet, and the variety ensures you feel like you’re getting more for your money compared to places that nickel-and-dime for extras. When compared to competitors like Blaze or Pieology, MOD often comes out ahead on value per dollar, even if ingredient refinement might be a...
Read moreOh man, where to start with this disaster of a experience. We were excited when they opened to have MOD near the house but after our first time at this location we'll just go elsewhere. My husband and I stood at the counter awkwardly for several minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us, but sadly no, the 5 employees we saw opted to goof around and pretend we weren't there. The young man that did finally come over seemed very lost or out of it, he had a hard time with making the orders. I got the feeling he was very high or just very poorly trained or perhaps couldn't see what he was doing since his hair was hanging all down his face tottaly obscuring it. The place is absolutely filthy, topping and flour everywhere on every surface. Most of the topping containers where empty. No one made a move to clean or refill anything in the time we were there and they weren't even busy we were the only ones in line with 2 tables with people in the place. When we went to pay again awkwardly stood at the register waiting for one of the staff not doing anything to notice. The young girl that was cooking the pizzas finally came over to check us out only to walk off and get herself a soda in the middle of us paying, and then never came back. Never gave us our cups or receipt, just walked right off after telling us the tottal. This same young lady I watched numerous time handling peoples pizza with her bare hands and then touch her cell phone she had out on the counter, then later stick her bare hand into the cheese container and walk a fist full of cheese across the back area to make a pizza, never saw her wear gloves or wash her hands even after she touched the register . Probably won't be back it's pretty clear no one here cares or is...
Read more5 stars, to me, is near perfection and rarely attained. Doesn't take away from a 4 star - but it's the Holy Google Review Grail. BUT.. 5 stars is deserved here, if just based on the negative reviews - This place has turned a corner. Bear in mind, as I did, that the bad reviews are months old and right after this location opened. Mine was an online order to be ready at a specific time (during rush hour). I arrived 15 min early and was immediately greeted by Alex (her/she) with a welcome smile. With the early arrival, I had the chance to sit and observe. What I witnessed was an engaging and efficient staff, cheerfully handle what started as 4-5 people in line, to almost going out the door in the spans of 10 min. All the while, Alex, who was handling final prep and online pickup, was bubbling with energy (dancing to her own beat at times), engaging with customers (even the grumpy ones), their children and whomever crossed her area with an enthusiastic smile and an energetic greeting that you couldn't help but reciprocate. Even small talk while she worked like a machine! Food was ready right on time, as ordered and true to MOD form, delicious. My suggestion; don't let the past define this location, we all go through growing pains - they've grown, learned and are doing it right. Whether it's the leadership or the right mix of team players, I saw it all come to together in perfection during my visit. (Oh, and to the guy who references unsafe food handling - go check out food prep at Dominos or Little Caesars. Your expectations speak to eating in a hospital brother. It's pizza. MOD is step above, but not...
