Mr Donut & Kolaches — Restaurant in Texas

For 5 years I have driven by this place not thinking anything of it. Well by accident I happen to come in here since a neighboring eatery was packed and getting a cup of coffee was taking forever, so I waltzed in here, then was greeted with friendly smiles and so happy that I did. I NEVER thought any kolache place could be as good as Shipley's but this place BLOWS Shipley's out of the water. IT IS THE BEST large Jalapeño Sausage and Cheese KOLACHE of all time. The bread melts in your mouth and is light and fluffy with a buttery taste. The meat is delicious. You must try it.

Everyone is polite, happy, and ready to serve. The food is hot, fresh, and delicious. I've come back twice in one week its that good. This is my new go to spot....

We've been going here for over a year and have had nothing but a wonderful experience. The store is kept clean (if a little cluttered with stock off to the side) and the food here is fantastic. I fell in love with the crawfish pistolette and always eagerly await those coming back in season. Their kolaches are huge and they offer so many different filling options. My husband comes exclusively for the donuts and loves sampling whatever he can get his hands on before it sells out -- because they do sell out very fast! Great prices, great service, they've always made us feel welcome no matter who is behind the counter. So glad we have our "go to donut place" so...

I used to get breakfast tacos from here daily and really enjoyed them. However, in recent visits, the quality has noticeably declined. The egg, cheese, and potato tacos often cold and under-seasoned, with tiny pieces of eggshells in it which is disappointing. I decided to give them another chance, but unfortunately, the potatoes were undercooked and crunchy too close to raw. They should make sure the tacos are warm enough so that when I take a bite in my car, it’s not already cold within seconds.

It seems like there’s less care being put into the food now, so I won’t be returning. I hope they improve because they used...
