Let's talk discrimination. I do not write this review lightly. I am a Labor and Employment Attorney with 14 years of experience. I do not take things like this in jest.
I have been to a few Ojos Locos in the past and have had a great time. No problem at all. This was my first and last time at this location. Let's unpack it.
I went here with some friends on Saturday night after a wrestling event. Apparently there was a UFC fight going on and they were charging a cover to get in. No problem. My friend, who is a federal judge, got there first with her husband. She went inside and paid the cover for all of us. There were four in our party. We were outside at the wrestling event so we were dressed nicely but did not have sleeves. The Judge was a woman wearing a tank top. She was able to get through security without any issue, pay the cover and was waiting at the bar for us. We arrived and were met at the front door by the security guard. He asked for IDs and as we were pulling them out he said "Oh yeah you can't get in with what you are wearing. You need sleeves. Do you have a jacket or something in the car?" I told him no because it was 80 degrees and was just outside so no. He said our management said I can't let you in. The judge's husband was also sleeveless and so was the judge, but she got in. All of the guys are outside and we call her to let her know of the issue. She comes out to speak to the security guard and asks him what is happening. We told him there is a problem because if this is a true rule where is it posted and why was she allowed entry but we were rejected. He could not answer it.
The manager came out and spoke to the judge. He stated that it is their policy and it is posted outside. She asked him to show her and we walks her to the rules. The rules say nothing about lacking sleeves. She asked him again where is this rule coming from and if it is valid why wasn't it applied to everyone equally regardless of gender because they were only rejecting entry to males and not females.
We have no issue with a private business having a dress code when it is communicated so that patrons know ahead of time so they can prepare. Also when the policy does not discriminate against people based on race, gender, sexual orientation/ identity, religion, etc. This is where the issue lies. The manager did not want to give her the money back for the cover paid but after she laid out what the case was here he finally refunded the money and we left.
This place is officially on the blacklist. Do not waste your time, money and energy on a place like this. You...
Read moreI put all 5 stars on food, service and atmosphere. But be careful fellas if you are drunk they will rob you in the bill. So last night our bill was 155$ and I told bartender my friend going pay 100$ from the bill on his card and I will pay another 100$ cash so I tip also. This was 8/3/2025 Sunday. So next thing she bring bill to 55$. Great. But then my friend got notification they took -155$. Ok. Simple mistake. We told bartender hey they took $155- out his account already why charging 55$. I said it's ok. Let it go. I will give my friend cash $55 and still tip ya. Noooooo she insisted they only took 100$ anyway. We call the manager. And showed him his account. -$155 he insisted me to pay 55$. So I did! Gave 60$ left it on bar. He takes it and goes to register and I thought that was it right? So i left with our 2 female friends to go get the car. And when I leave, the manager changed the story with my drunk friend that I took the 60$ back that now they took 155$ off his account! Not knowing I'm coming back in and get my friend. He tells me if I took the money? I'm like no manager took it to register. So he believes me cause he knows me. I just told him let them keep 60$. Now instead 155$ they got 215$. And then manager changed his story again that if 55$ gets taken from his account to come back and get the 60$ 🤣🤣. I told em just keep it. We never going back. And sure enough. We was right they took 155$ and I want see the camera from bar at 8/5/2025 12:50am when I left 60$ on bar. Guarantee they won't pull that footage out! Be careful people these people take advantage of drunk people and steal. I'm only telling ya this cause we been robbed other are and we know what to look for. And I'm putting my picture so corporate see the video. Cause...
Read moreThe wings are good. I have had the buffalo and spicy ranch at this location, and both were good. The first time I was there, the service was amazing. The waitress was extremely attentive and made sure that my water never went empty and made sure that my beer also didn't until I stopped.
The second round, the waitress was also very attentive though there was a large language barrier. Making it hard to even order water. The kitchen sent out half full thimbles of ranch with the 18 wings, and when I asked for more, the waitress added a $0.99 charge to the bill. I almost just took this out of the tip but decided to talk to the manager since this wasn't the waitresses fault. The manager was nice enough to take this off the bill. I only state this as for the only reason that a 5 star was given on service and why an additional star was lost on food. The food is good but not over the top, so 4 stars then having staff shorting sauces.
The atmosphere just wasn't there. I could see there being one during an event. The first time, it seemed to have a better atmosphere than the second time. We shall see if...
