I am a frequent customer of Potbelly restaurants, having gone to many locations throughout Texas. I enjoy the sandwiches, the atmosphere and aesthetic. However today the atmosphere was ruined. My sister and I were casually enjoying our food, discussing plans for an upcoming trip with friends. We paused talking for a few minutes to look up information on our phones. I realized a worker had been hovering around us once he bid a polite farewell to a group of teenagers that were leaving. I expected the usual "How is the food, is everything okay?" that is normally asked by floating employees when I dine-in at fast food establishments, however with this man in particular, that was not the case. He loudly demanded "Get off your phones and talk to each other!", a common sentiment among the older generations. Until that point my sister and I had been enjoying our day, having planned other sisterly bonding activities once we finished our meal; but the minute that snarky remark was made, my day and mood was ruined. My experience with Potbelly workers has always been positive. Never before have I experienced such rudeness, not even a "how is the food? hope you ladies are doing well". All I could do was stare at him in shock, unaware of how else to respond. My sister informed him we were planning a trip on our phones to which he claimed he "was just joking", a common deflection among the older generations. Immediately my sister and I were made severely uncomfortable, not wanting to speak now that we were made aware our behavior and conversation was being actively montiored. I wish I had asked for his name, but I did not want to cause a scene. The atmosphere of the restaurant has forever been soured in my mind. As long as that worker remains at this location, I will no longer visit this specific Potbelly establishment. This is especially unfortunate now that the Which Wich on Gosling has closed down, so Potbelly was our natural next choice of sandwich eatery. I am severely...
Read moreI am a newer customer to the Potbelly chain. The food is usually good and I previously havenât experienced any issues with the staff. In fact, when I came in today with my sister I had been craving the sandwiches. Ordering, payment, and finding a table went smoothly. We ate and discussed vacation plans for the near future. We sat in silence on our phones for a minute or two to look up information about our trip when I noticed a worker hovering around our table. I was also made uneasy when I realized the worker had been watching us. Suddenly he said âGet off of your phones and talk to each otherâ in a stern voice. I was immediately taken aback. I was used to employees walking around the floor and asking customers how their food was or if there were any issues, but it seemed this worker never intended to say any of those things. When I responded with âwe are planning a trip,â he immediately tried to play it off by saying he âwas jokingâ. Even if he meant it as a light hearted joke, it created an immensely uncomfortable atmosphere for my sister and I. Soon he walked away mumbling, a little offended by the interaction. My sister and I felt awkward doing anything now in the vicinity of this worker. There was no apology, question about the food, how we were doing, and the worker certainly did not come off as friendly. Our food was good as always, but we will avoid visiting this location in the future especially to dine-in. We were not causing a disturbance and yet we were still reprimanded for using our phones at a fast-food restaurant of all places! Approaching customers with a hostile attitude like that does not create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for...

I walked back to the register and 5 minutes later the guy in drive thru screamed from the drive thru area did I want a egg nog shake and I replied YeS and he said whatâs that and I said yes.! He picked some items off the floor with his bare hands and scopped two scoops of Icecream in the blender and prepared my shake and picked up two fingers cookies with his bare nasty hands and handed it to me.
