After needing to replace some tires on our vehicle we decided to, instead of going to a nice place for our baby's 2nd birthday, that we walk to the near by restaurant. We regretted our decision soon after. First we were told to sit anywhere. Which we did. Minutes passed by and I was beginning to wonder if we had to guess what they served here. Once we finally got our menu we all knew what we wanted so we asked to order. After ordering a queso my husband was trying to continue our order when they waitress just left? Without a word... several minutes later she comes back and asks if we are ready to order... confused because we already had said that but dismissed it and continued. I ordered a virgin piñacolada and it was as if they only dumped some coconut cream in a glass. Super sweet and not great. Which I ended up not drinking and was not even offered a glass of water, which is the usual. Our kids enjoyed their burgers but the fries were plain so I added salt, no big deal. I ordered shrimp tacos and they were the worst. First of all they tasted sweet? And had a mango tasting sauce on top that was not in the description of the tacos. The rice and supposed "fresh corn tortillas" tasted DAYS old and the avocado tasted sour. My husband didn't enjoy his tacos either. As we are not the type to complain, we ate the food we ordered (to the best of our ability). Knowing it was our daughter's birthday they asked what they should bring for her, we ordered sopapillas. To which my husband asked if we could eat a little before they brought them, but they were brought while we were still eating. They also tasted like cardboard with some cinnamon sugar on top. It honestly ruined our day eating very distasteful food and ruined our afternoon as well since the shrimp tacos made my stomach hurt. We will not be returning. We still tipped our waitress ofcourse but the food...
Read moreHalloween, mid-day. Literally the only person there to eat. One younger cheerful girl dressed as the girl from the Addams family and an older cranky lady. Lucky me I get cranky pants. Ask for Tea and water with limes. She brings them with lemons. Order small queso add beef and I ask if pico comes on it, she says yes. Then there’s a Charge for pico on the end of my bill. I have to flag down the nice girl more times to get me refills and napkins, etc cause mine had her back to me chatting with another employee across the room. By this point she’s making it clear she does not care about her one top. I order the taco salad with shredded chicken (with Wednesday Addams who relayed it to my waitress)It comes out with fajita chicken (more expensive, I’ve lost my care to correct it at this point) but it doesn’t have tomatoes like the menu description. So I ask her to get them it didn’t come with it. She asks, are you sure they’re not underneath? No lady here let me stir my dish and show you. Then there’s a charge for tomatoes on the bill. Getting things to go seemed to stress her out. However, as soon as she drops the check to be signed, all of sudden, “oh have a great day! Thank you for coming in!” Major attitude change. If I wasn’t so tired from just moving and wanting a shower and bed I would have lost my mind. There’s too many Mexican food places to ever go back. This one is already over priced for what it is. Apparently they nickle and dime you for everything too. Small queso, taco salad and a tea came out to $33 and some change. Yeah no. Just go two miles in any other direction to another place and...
Read moreAmazing depth in flavors. This is not your typical Tex-Mex! The red salsa has building heat that ebbs and flows. The green sause is mild with citrus flavor. Our waiter, Cesar, was attentive, provided excellent service, and answered all my questions. (I asked tons). The manager/owner Judy consistently greeted regulars and once she was told we were first timers, she came over to talk with us. The portobello fajitas were sliced, seasoned, and grilled to perfection. The white corn tortillas and flour tortillas tasted in-house fresh made. The Kitchen sink skillet meal was layers of potatoes, sausage, bell peppers, and I ordered soft scrambled eggs on top with a side of pico. Food was served sizzling hot, hearty, flavorful breakfast. Rita’s is more than happy to adjust menus to your liking, so next time I am going to order the Kitchen sink with has browns on bottom. To top it all off, first time visitors receive a complementary tower of churros. 3 crunchy churros are cut and stacked, filled with homemade whipped cream, topped with strawberries and drizzled with goat Carmel sauce. Be warned - this is not your average Carmel sauce (so good). The question isn’t if we will come back, but instead how soon we well be back. If you haven’t already been to Rita’s run as fast as...
