What a great healthy alternative for a meal! All of the items are fresh and a great way to get a solid meal without consuming too many calories. Salata exceeded my expectations! I was searching for a buffet style, healthy restaurant and decided to try Salata. When looking online for reviews for Salata, it perplexed me that Yelp had a lower review score as opposed to the high reviews on Google... It's only fair to review it myself and I was certainly not disappointed! Salata is not a buffet ,but rather, a cafeteria style assembly line to which you build your own salad. The customer starts by selecting one of the following meal sizes: a burrito style, a small bowl or a regular ( both bowls are actually very generous portions!) The following process are a simple four-step procedure (after you select the portion/size bowl): (1) Select your base (which lettuces you want). (2) Select your toppings (comprised of many, many options of fresh vegetables, fruits and cheeses.) (3) Select your dressing (there must be over a dozen to choose from. All are very delicious!) (4) Select your protein (meats and/or seafoods.) *At the end, you can top it off with nuts, tortillas strips, croutons or even a multigrain croissant. Once the staff have added all of the ingredients that you have selected, they toss it together with a pair of tongs so everything is well coated and well mixed together. The staff is very friendly and ensures that your eating areas and restrooms are clean and sanitized. The soda fountain, teas and lemonades area is also kept very clean as well! The overall ambiance of the restaurant has a nice fresh, fun feel to it (almost like you're at a juice bar but you're there for salads instead.) I definitely give Salata two very well deserved big thumbs up! It's a fantastic alternative to routine hot diner meals and it's not a burden on the wallet, as it's approximately only $13 per person for a generous salad and drink. I will be eating...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām use to the location near Jersey Village as they are more patient than this location, as I kept asking them to give me the lettuce from the top instead of grabbing it from the bottom because Iāve had bad experience with seeing bugs at the bottom of salads at some other restaurants so that is the reason I ask them to get it from the top only, although I prefer to make my own salad, unfortunately I had to drive three hours to court so on my way back into Houston I look for the nearest Salad place and Salata came up since Iām use to the other location I figured I give this one a try. The workers seem to be bother by me asking them to get it from the top only and second the First Lady was about to prep my salad with some glove i had just seen her use to wipe counter with because of that I asked her to change her glove, second lady cleared her throat with her mouth open over my food which I did not appreciate, if she had turn her head when she did it I would not had make it a deal but she did it right over the uncovered salad, If Iām paying for my food and a simple request is met with attitude than maybe they should not work there. The Jersey village location donāt have that attitudeā¦. I wonāt return to Spring location but Overall the cosmetic of the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me begin by saying they I frequent Salata often. Iām a customer at least 3 stores and obviously I enjoy their product. With that said, Iām not sure what was bothering an employee that WAS NOT even serving me, but the person that was serving me was being QUITE SKIMPY on the toppings AND the dressing. So, I asked for more. Yes, the person serving me gave me more, but each time it was barely enough to fill the scoop! I ordered a regular salad and I wanted enough sauce to cover it all once they finished making it - Iāve had a dry salad before and had to use some Hidden Valley Ranch at home! So after asking for more (the third time) the employee that WAS NOT serving me says, āitās going to be extraā and I said, āwell it will be dry without itā and so she takes my salad and said that she will make me another - I was like, I DONT NEED ANOTHER. I just need a little more dressing.
So, she says that itāll be an extra charge and I was like whatever and ok. But Iām quite disturbed over the exchange. 1) You have a customer to deal with (it isnāt me) and 2) I donāt want my salad dry!
IT WAS STILL DRY!!!!!!!
Other than this moment, Iāve never had an issue with Salata - Iāve just left church so, Iām staying with Jesus, but I didnāt appreciate...
