Taqueria Los Garcia — Restaurant in Texas

One of the best Taquerias in the greater Houston area. The tacos al pastor are amazing, but his barbacoa is one the best I ever had. delicious, but not overly greasy as some places serve. Super nice staff, which really means something in this day and age. While I am in no way a chef, I can appreciate a man that gets his recipes right, then hires a knowledgeable staff that clearly take pride in their work and strive for excellence in their work. Doesn't matter if you are serving tacos, donuts, steaks or ice cream, if the people preparing it and/or serving it don't take pride in their product it will will show up quickly in overall quality. These guys CLEARLY take pride because the food is always consistently good. In. his Bammel location and also his Spring location. So, my hat is off to the owner and his wonderful staff at both locations. I know it takes dedication and long hours to have a single restaurant with such high standards, let alone 2 restaraunts.

But no matter the time of day, I walk in knowing what's being served on any day, great food served with a warm smile.

I don't write an abundance of food reviews. But since I am in restaraunt kitchens all day 5 days a week, servicing kitchen fire suppression systems, you can bet I eat A LOT of restaraunt food daily. And while there are many excellent tacos to be found all over Houston, some places are just a cut above. Taqueria Los Garcia, #1, AND #2 are two of the places that are definitely a cut above. Try em out. Thank me later.

(And if you get the chance, tell him the Sugarland/Rosenberg area could sure benefit from a Taqueria...

While this is a pretty small place which is nestled away on what is not generally known as a 'major' thoroughfare, it is easily accessible, since they are located on Bammel N. Houston, right in between 249 and the Beltway.

They make their tortillas from scratch, and the corn especially are great, as you can generally find homemade flour tortillas elsewhere, but corn are pretty difficult to make and/or find.

They offer a variety of selections as fillings, such as: Bacon & Egg Ham & Egg Potato & Egg Sausage & Egg Mexican Sausage & Egg Steak & Egg Ranchero Egg (Huevos Rancheros) Al Pastor (Pork) Pork Skin in Red Sauce Barbacoa Barbacoa Ranchera Desebrada/Shredded Pork in Red Sauce Bacon-Wrapped Jalapenos

They've also had Bistec with Jalapeno tacos available on a couple of occasions although I don't see it on the breakfast menu. (I uploaded menu pictures, but don't see them).

I learned about this place because I wanted to buy lunch for my manufacturing team at Curbco on a Saturday when they were working overtime. So I asked what everyone wanted, and they said "tacos".

I just moved to the area from Seattle a few months ago, and while I love Mexican food Houston had a lot more to offer and I want to learn.

So I asked where to get 100 tacos and they said go to Taqueria Los Garcia, and so I did!

I wish I know more espanol, but basically I asked them to fix me up with an assortment of different tacos and they did it perfectly.

I've done this a few times and have also come back for lunches too. I would eat this every day if my schedule allowed but then again I would get fat because I can't stop eating after just a few tacos, I have to eat a few dozen.
