We moved to the area a few months ago. We were thrilled to have a cajun pub close by. When we tried it out the first few times, the food was awesome, the service from Katie was SPECTACULAR and pricing was accurate and as advertised on website and social media. We were becoming weekly regulars for lunch.
Then, about a month and a half later, there was a staffing change with the bartender. New female bartender has horrible attitude, terrible service, lies about pricing and hours of happy hour. Initially, I wrote the manager about this, and he assured us that the bartender was new and initial issues of charging more for the same drink we always had and then lying about it was a "learning curve." He did offer us a generous coupon to encourage us to return, as we do love the food, atmosphere and the service we had received before that.
I chose not to use the coupon because the principle of the issue was not wanting something for free, it was the hope to correct a VERY unattractive issue. So several weeks have passed and for various reasons we have not been to visit this location. So we had some free time recently and decided to give it another go. Hoping that it truly was a "learning curve" with the now-not-so-new female bartender. Well, we were wrong...
It was not "busy" but busier than when we usually go in. We sat at a booth and a lady came from the back to take our order. (Female bartender was at the bar when we came in and went to the back potentially to get someone else to take our order.) What I noticed first was that the menus were different and there were not daily specials listed on them. Secondly, it was about 5:40 PM. We asked about happy hour. The waitress did not know so went to ask the bartender. (According to website and updated social media pages, it should be until 7:00 PM.) Waitress returned and stated happy hour was until 6:00 PM. I mentioned and showed the waitress the online data that stated it was 7:00 PM, not 6:00. She seemed caught off guard and not as confident about her answer at that point. (I got the impression this "waitress" was not normally a waitress and instead a ploy by the terrible female bartender to avoid taking our order.)
By this point, I realized that the problem had not improved. Instead, the problem still works there and I was not willing to pay a cent to a company that clearly does not care about patrons that were/are repeat customers.
That's too bad, for this business, because we tell EVERYONE not only about bad experiences but also good ones. I was hoping this was going to be one of the good ones, but it has proved to be...
Read moreThe staff was friendly and I was helped as soon as I walked up to the bar. Right now it's crawfish season in Texas. If your from the south then you already know how we look forward to crawfish season in Texas. When I came in to Tewbeleaux's it was around 8:30 PM on a Saturday evening. I asked the bartender for a menu and looked at it for a moment and didn't see any crawfish which isn't that unusual since it is seasonal so I asked the bartender if they had crawfish right now because my wife and kids are at home right now craving crawfish. He said yes sir we do. I asked how much it was and he told me it was $5.99 a pound. I asked him to hold on a moment so I could call my wife and see how much she and the kids would like. I ordered 5 pounds with potatoes and corn and 5 pounds without corn and potatoes. I placed my order to go, ordered a beer and waited on the patio for it. I waited 25 minutes for the crawfish to be ready, which is ok if they were preparing right then, I would expect that. I did not expect them to try and serve it to me there as a fine in customer. A waitress came up to me with 10 pounds of crawfish and said my order was ready. I told her that it was supposed to be a to go order. She told me that crawfish is not sold for to go orders and if I wanted it I would have to eat it there. I have never ever, ever, EVER heard of such a thing. "Do you guys sell crawfish? Absolutely we do! Do you sell it to go? Absolutely not!!!" That makes zero since. You can not buy crawfish to go at Tewbeleaux's for whatever strange reason that I still do...
Read moreWe moved into the area about a year ago and we always saw that the parking lot was full so we figured they had good food. We were excited to see that they had crawfish so we decided to go out on a wednesday night and finally check the place out. We were happy to see that they werent very busy. We walked in and nobody acknowledged us except for a gentleman that was setting up a bingo booth. He told us to sit wherever we liked. We wanted a booth but the couple that were open were dirty so we chose to sit at a high table. After sitting down for 10 minutes a gal came over and got our drink order. During that time a booth opened up so we asked if we could move. She said sure, not a problem. After we sat at the booth a different server came up and asked us what we'd like to drink and we told her that another lady had already taken our order. She sighed and appeared annoyed and walked away. It wasnt a busy night, a lot of the staff were standing around chatting. In a 15 minute period the second server came and checked on her two tables twice. We waited a couple more minutes but nobody came with our drinks. I walked up to the bar and told the young gal that we had ordered our drinks about 15 mins ago and she quickly apologized and said she would find our server and our drinks would be right out. We waited another 7 minutes. Nobody came so me and my husband walked out. Nobody acknowledged us as we left. It's too bad because it seemed like a...
