I've been to All Star twice before, both times for team parties for my children. I was so pleased with the atmosphere and the food that I scheuduled both my son's soccer team party and my daugther's cheer team party with them this season. I scheduled both appointments at least 1 month in advance, because I'm aware of how busy they are around this time of the year. I called back a week before the party to request extra space for my daughter's party. My son's party was fantastic. Scheduling was right on time, the food and atmosphere was of course GREAT. My daughter's party last night was a disaster. Our game was over around 6PM so I scheduled both party rooms for 7PM. When we got there around 6:30PM, the party before ours was still in the room. They'd booked all 3 rooms and there were so many people there, that they'd actually spilled over to the outside. As 7PM neared, some of the parents in my group noticed that the previous party wasn't "ending"...The manager, Richard approached me and told me there had been a scheduling conflict and the previous party's team mom "told" him that they had the room scheduled until 8PM. Even though his scheduling system said they had to be done by 7PM, they told him he was mistaken and they weren't leaving...We were basically stuck out. Richard offered us free appetizers and 15% off of our meal which was generouse, but we would have much rather have had a comfortable dining experience. He offered us space outside, once everyone else cleared out but by this time, it was cool out and we'd still have to wait..We waited around a while longer and the dad's in our group pulled tables together but alot of our group ate separate from the rest of us and the night was cut short. It was very disappointing. When I went to discuss the debacle with Richard at the end of the night, he was very short and unapologetic and even had an attitude, saying everything from "it was the manager's fault for over booking" to "I gave you queso and 15% discounts.." but never once did he say "I'm sorry your party was ruined..." I don't believe there was a booking issue. I beleive that the other party started late and just weren't finished by 7PM so they told him they had it booked longer. That's fine and dandy but they don't run the restaurant, the manager and staff do. Nothing was done to ensure that my reservation was honored. Even if he would have had them move to 2 rooms and given us the one, it would have went a long way...Instead, we were forced to eat our food and give out awards in the small space in the middle of the restaurant. It wasn't fair to our children and it's NO WAY to treat a customer...I won't be going back or booking any more parties and I'll discourage anyone I come in contact with to do the same. I caution any of you who may book here to be very careful and have a backup plan. It was the last time that our girls will be cheering together (they enter Jr. High next year) so this party meant alot to them and it was ruined...We can't get that...
Read moreWhere to start? First, the loaded fries are just terrible. They claim to be beer battered but they are just undercooked, doughy fries. The chili is nearly non-existent and is even more water thin than the nacho cheese. Once they arrive at the table they are already so soggy they fall apart. Instead of calling them loaded fries they should just call them loaded mashed potatoes. Second, it's more of a sports bar atmosphere than an eating establishment. It was loud and somewhat obnoxious with the drunks sitting close by. Third, the menu selections are just weird. Maybe not the selections as much as the combinations. Catfish and shrimp served with Spanish rice? Just weird. I ordered the chicken-fried steak while my wife ordered the pulled pork tacos. You don't get to choose your sides and the steak comes with mashed potatoes and toast. The tacos were ok except the tortillas. They were dry but the meat was ok. The chicken-fried steak was just horrible from beginning to end. Very bland and comes out looking extremely unappealing. There was grease oozing from the underside. The steak was really chewy and stringy with no flavor at all. The meat didn't even resemble beef in color, taste or appearance. The potatoes were bland as well. Thank God for salt and pepper! The Texas toast was even bland, dry and rubbery. Fourth, there were parents there letting their little jewels run across the tops of two tables and act like their first time out of the basement. We ended up spending a little over $40 total with very subpar food and a dining experience that would've been better at McDonald's. Bottom line, we certainly won't be back and would never recommend it to anyone else. The food quality and quantity is equal to that of some little local diner in the middle of nowhere with a captive audience and not of one in a thriving area with dozens of better choices. We wanted to support local but...
Read moreThis is our spot for our family. Their crawfish is always tasty and good-sized. We love this mom-n-pop place! The owner, Kelly, is always patient, kind, buses her own tables, and quick to notice if someone needs something, as they’re super busy at times because of the superb service and good food. You rarely see this type of care and concern anymore. The manager, Kevin, is always ready to ensure you’re served right up and very friendly. We’ve tried a lot of the menu and are never disappointed. The covered patio is very nice, with a tv and fans to catch games, and has a platform for bands to stop by and entertain while you enjoy a drink or three and great entertainment. There’s a playground for the kiddos and a room for larger sized parties and it’s always full. They have a very unique dish, chicken fried chicken smothered in melted queso, and I know it sounds different but it works so well. Their triple dip appetizer tastes very good (we are queso snobs) and their queso dip with the ground beef is a winner, winner! They have a bar area, cool little arcade area for the kiddos and a juke box that is always jamming. Their quesadillas, burgers, sandwiches, it’s ALL good. Never a bad moment and service is very friendly, smiling, and welcoming. Treat the wait staff kindly, they are busy and always working hard to ensure you have a great dining experience. Come for the food and stay for the welcoming environment. Great place to eat as a family. If you’re traveling from out of town or looking for a great place, check out...
