Looking for a place for drinks and conversation? If so, then a bar to consider is the Public House, located in Katy’s Villagio Town Center. It’s a traditional pub with drinks, televisions, games, and more.
What you get with the Public House is a comfortable place for drinks and a noise level low enough that you can hear the person speaking next to you with no problem. There is a jukebox playing tunes, but they keep the volume low enough that you can talk to people with ease.
They have a respectable beer selection at the Public House, and the prices are good- lower than those of most other establishments. If you would rather go for a cocktail, not a problem. The liquor selection is extensive, and they can mix up any drink you like.
Besides the drinks, you will find a pool table, games, and an outdoor space for seating when the weather is right. Public House did serve food at one point, but the last time I visited, I learned that the food service had been suspended while they worked out some kinks. In the meantime, there is a vending machine in the back if you need a snack while you imbibe.
Food or not, the Public House is a good place to visit for drinks and conversation. The service has always been friendly, too, and since it’s located in Villagio Town Center, there is abundant parking and more than enough places you can walk to for food, if the need arises. There is no outstanding feature at Public House, but it has all the essentials covered, which is reason enough to...
Read moreBeware of the bartender Martha.. She drinks and parties at work, mixes up the bills, when you ask for explanation of the charges, get riled up and makes a scene and threatens to call cops..
As it wasn't my fault, I told her to go ahead . or explain the charges . she chose to call the cops . Unfortunately, cops were not interested in finding out the problem or who caused the problem but just to getting me out of there . Not to mention, had to pay for her mistake .full bill. though I didn't have to..
I never seen this before happening to anyone .. so was totally taken aback .. so be careful going to this place. Hopefully management will introduce a policy to prevent bartenders from getting drunk while working there..
To be fair, she was nice and cordial until she started drinking up on the customer tabs .. as night went along, she seems to have lost it .. watch out .. for intoxicated Martha .. I would assume sober Martha is nice and cool person .. ...
Read moreI recently visited The Public House and was shocked by the treatment I received. From the moment I entered, I felt unwelcome. The staff displayed clear favoritism towards certain customers while ignoring or treating others, including myself, with disrespect.
For instance, when I approached the counter, I noticed the staff were overly friendly with a group of customers who appeared to be of a different background, while I was met with dismissive attitudes and minimal assistance. This made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
Racism has no place in our community, and businesses should strive to create an inclusive environment for everyone. I hope The Public House takes this feedback seriously and implements training for their staff to ensure all customers are treated fairly and with respect.
I will not be returning until I see...
