We are regulars to Villa Grande, we go once a week because it is in our neighborhood. Tonight we went in and had the absolute worst experience there ever. We were sat (after a 15 minute wait, which is expected for a Friday night) at 6:48pm, by 7:48pm we still did not have our food. We asked to speak to a manager and he comes over and argues with us about the fact that we don't have our food yet, it obviously wasn't there and he pretty much kept implying we were lying even though the people all around us that came in afterwards were confirming how long we had been there (they all had their food, in fact a few people had come, ate and left all while we sat there and waited). We would have been more understanding if there had been some sort of communication from the server but there wasn't, at about 7:30 (30 minutes after we ordered) she came and asked about an item she should have asked about when we originally ordered, so we assume she had forgotten to put our order in. Again, mistakes happen but a little communication can go a long way, and there was nothing until we asked for a manager and then of course the way he acted was inexcusable. They have completely lost our service and we have been regulars there, once or twice a week for the past two years since we moved to this area. As guest we should not be made out to be the bad guy especially when their staff is never up to par in the first place (something we have always looked past because we love the food) but to leave your guest sitting for an hour with no explanation and no apology, not even from the manager, is absolutely ridiculous. I will never recommend this place to anyone and make sure to tell people about...
Read moreSUPERB! ALL-AROUND GEM! The Tex-Mex food is well-prepared. The service is exemplary. The atmosphere was pleasant, both inside and out. This time, my wife and I both tried their Platillo Sur (3-enchilada combo, with beans and rice). The beef and sour-cream chicken ones were loaded with generous portions of mildly-seasoned meat. The cheese one was also great. After continuous refills of chips and salsa, we were barely able to finish our entrees. On our other two previous visits, we enjoyed ice-cold beers and excellent frozen margaritas from their well-stocked and pleasant bar. This time, we were pleasantly surprised to find that, unlike many other restaurants, their iced tea was full-bodied and a long way superior to the colored water we are often overcharged for at other restaurants. And we got out of there for a few cents over $23, plus a well-deserved tip. The staff was attentive without being at all pushy. Our glasses were never allowed to be empty. They seemed to have a good team spirit, willing to help their coworkers and were attentive to details. Their Cross Roads location is an excellent restaurant for couples, friends and families and well-worth checking out. Once you do, just like us, you’ll be back. Check out their highly-varied...
Read moreWe will not be coming back, first time eating at this place and a horrible experience. Our 8 year old sons hot dog bun was hard, so he took the dog out of the bun and ate it... fine. Then after a few bites I realized the waitress brought me a chicken burrito not a pork, I was busy taking to my husband I didn't pay much attention. I wasn't going to eat anymore of it, because it wasn't very good, and then my husband brought it up to the waitress when she came back around and she kind of said sorry took my plate and walked away then brought our check to us. My husband was upset that we weren't even offered a correct meal or anything! He took the check up to the manager and made him aware and he proceeded to say "how did your wife not realize it was chicken not pork", rather than get into a yelling match about being rude to your clients my husband handed him his card he paid for it and we left. The manager STILL had the option to take it off or even acknowledge the mistake and he chose not to! SO RUDE! We're new to Texas and have felt that businesses here are so polite and helpful.... NOT THIS PLACE.
SO JUST KNOW IF YOU COME HERE AND YOUR WAITRESS BRINGS YOU THE WRONG FOOD YOU WILL BE FORCED TO EAT IT...
