Woodson's Local Tap + Kitchen (Grand Parkway) — Restaurant in Spring

The food is good. The atmosphere is nice, but the service was terrible. We asked to be sat in the patio area, they took as back immediately. As soon as we sat down, the outside fans were turned off. My husband had to go ask for them to be turned back on. The server, Becca H, came out to get our order. My husband asked about the beer and she directed us to the QR code on the table. She then left to give us time to review the menu. Once she came back out, we ordered our food and my husband asked what beer they had. Her response was “QR code”. He then asked, do you know what they have? And she said “no.” Very flat both times. Inattentive. N it helpful. Nothing to show that she knew something or willing to give assistance on what was available. So my husband asks “you don’t know any of the beers they have?” And she respond w/ “no, they have like 30 beers and they change daily”. So w/ that my husband decides to just get water. As soon as he says that, then she answers w/ “well we do have the regular….” And lists the domestic beers. So we got one of those. Then less than 10 minutes after getting our food, she comes out w/ boxes asking if we’re done and need boxes…. Like we just got our food. We’re still very visibly eating. Now we’re feeling rushed. At this time it’s close to 4 so I’m guess maybe she just wanted to close us out because she might be leaving soon? We keep eating and she comes back maybe another 10 minutes later to ask us how we’re doing, but this time her hands are full from plates she picked up at another table. I had to get up and help her by opening the door so she could get back inside since both her hands were full w/ the plates she was carrying. Now her asking how we were doing wasn’t bad, but why are you going come out w/ your hands full? After we paid, we asked for a pen. Her respond was “I don’t have one”. Which again, that’s very flat. This is my spot. I never really had a spot until woodsons. I miss this place when I travel and the people here from employees to other customers are like family to me. I feel comfortable and safe no matter what is going on the atmosphere is consistent and warm. The food has never been bad and I think out of all of the things I have ate here there is only 1 that I didn’t like as much as the others but was still good. I want to send special thanks to the people that work here and made it such a wonderful place l.. for Sara no H has the best attitude and personality, I have never seen her bring anything but a positive vibe into this establishment. For Bri is the first person I talked to more than just an order when talking didn’t come very easy for me when I first started to come here I had a lot going on and it was a process, I trust her she gets to know people as a bartender and trust is important for me, she is hella funny all around SOLID bartender. Krista whom I never really talk to much to start with but she remembered my name and my order immediately and always checks in to make sure I am happy with my food ( I sometimes think she might own woodsons but likes to keep it a secret hahaha jk)… I always sit at the bar so there is a lot if people I haven’t got to spend time with. This place is the place to be for sports, a chill atmosphere, catch a vibe, and/or a fun meal with the family. I seen everyone from couples, to the single diner, to families of 6 eating in this restaurant and everyone was having a great time.

They have bar seating, high tables, and low tables. The high tables even have high chair accommodations! That blew me away! If you have small children and want to sit at a high table, their high chairs are high enough!

There is also patio dining if you want to enjoy the weather and a few arcade games as in two. It is a louder place so if you have people or children in your group who do not like loud environments, may not be the best place.

The food was absolutely delicious! The giant pretzel is most definitely without a doubt A GIANT PRETZEL! It is sooooo tasty though! Not salted to much but just perfectly with a buttery outer layer and crisped just enough to have a soft as velvet inside. Fish that pretzel was memorable. Cheese dipping sauce comes on the side!

The buffalo chicken salad was fresh and crisp. Very good salad and large filling portion. I ordered mine Hot and it has a nice kick to it. Great amount of bleu cheese crumbles and veggies!

The steak sandwich is tender and juicy and the meat has a lot of flavor! Substitute the hoagie for Texas Toast! 🔥🔥🔥the tater tots are hella good! Crispy and soft inside.
