Racism at this establishment. Note to manager: Orders should be made in the order they are received-not picking and choosing which patrons you want to serve first(this practice can easily be perceived as racial discrimination which in my case it likely was). I ordered 3 lunch specials and manager told me 20 mins. They were quite busy because it was around lunch time. An Indian man and white lady couple came in about 5-7 mins after me to dine in. Of course they made their food first(I’m talking take their order, drinks, soup, entrees and all while I’m sitting there for upwards of 45 mins) and they likely served about 2 to 4 to go orders before mine and had me wait about 45 mins to an hour because I saw several people come and go. I go to the counter to address the concern and no one acknowledged me for 10 mins. The manager doesn’t offer to still give me food. I missed my entire lunch break because they made every one else’s order before mine. Also, will take 5 business days for me to recoup my $34. Manager offered nothing for a concession but the Thai tea for my lost hour lunch break, money off my card for 5 days, and no food. Mind you my food still wasn’t ready after all this including 2 conversations with manager and 1 with the attendant Indian girl. They served 3 different dine in couples, 2 door dash orders, and 3 regular to go orders before mine. I even left a $3 tip. All the while, after she issued my refund I hear the younger Asian manager and Indian girl murmuring “why is he still standing there” as if I was the problem for being treated like it’s 1932. Obviously, I was standing there thinking the manager was going to still give me my food to appease a former loyal customer of theirs for wasting my time, money, and inequitable treatment I just received from them. Turns out the manager comes back and says “oh no I was just giving you the Thai Tea that you paid for because food is still not ready”. Thai Tea does not right your wrongdoing, a restaurant and manager with a moral compass would know this. This was January 16th, 2024 the day after MLK day. It was 1 degrees outside with the wind chill, and I drove over there in frigid cold weather just to be treated like that. Don’t go here if...
Read moreUpdate 9:52 I am home in Dallas They couldn’t even get the order right! I ordered 2 drunken noodles no onion and 2 with onion and guess what I got 3 onion, 1 no onion. They couldn’t even get my order correct 🙃
Update 04/11 8:54 PM* Here I am waiting 30 minutes for the same drunken noodles because the person behind the counter doesn’t pick up the phone. I came to Scheels and wanted to eat the great drunken noodles that I had in the previous comment. I guess it’s too much to answer the phone? I wanted to order take out while I was at Truck Yard to be ready for my drive to Dallas, but how can I. Last time I come. Literally a waist of time if you want pick up. Also while I was here I noticed what looked like an Indian couple about to cancel and leave the restaurant because they had waited 55 minutes for theirs dine in order. It wasn’t that busy, why couldn’t I order ahead of time? I have gone to roughly 8 Thai Places in DFW this is a disappointment. Shout out to the male behind the counter that didn’t answer the phone to any other customers that were probably trying to place any order while we waited for ours at the location because we couldn’t call in for take out 👍🏼
The Drunken noodles was really good. Very generous portion, the noodles had a great consistency. One of the best that I've tried all throughout Dallas. It was very...
Read moreMy first experience was about a month ago. On a Thursday around 5pm, I ordered by phone and was told it would be ready for pickup in 30 minutes. When I arrived, MANY APOLOGIES were given that it would be longer until my order of two entries would be ready. Twenty minutes later, MORE APOLOGIES. I was told they were very busy. At the moment, there were two tables with guests and one other person waiting on to-go. At that point, I cancelled the order. MANY APOLOGIES given as well as a coupon. My second experience was today, 7/27/15. Around 1pm, I placed a telephone order of two entries and was told the order would be ready in 25 minutes. To be safe, I arrived in 35 minutes. There were two tables with guests. One table was obviously finished and getting ready to leave. The other was still eating. The lady greeted me with MANY APOLOGIES. She said my order was not ready. I told her that it was my second time to hear this. She said "we are so busy--I am so sorry." I asked her how much longer it would be. She reluctantly went back to the cook and returned saying "ten minutes more." Fifteen minutes later, the order was ready. Each entree cost about $13 and the shrimp was overcooked and both dishes were very greasy overall. Certainly not worth the price or the wait! This place seems better at serving up APOLOGIES...
