My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner on Friday. Our server was fantastic and the evening started out well. Both entrees were delicious, though our shared side (corn brĂ»lĂ©e) was entirely too charred on top. I understand the concept of brĂ»lĂ©e but please see the photo Iâve attached. We had to essentially remove the whole top layer to enjoy the dish which did away with the âbrĂ»lĂ©eâ effect. What remained was still short of impressive. We did not want to complain over something so small and inexpensive so we did not.
For entrees, we ordered the surf and turf pasta and the bone in rib-eye. Both dishes were great and fully enjoyed. For dessert we ordered the seasonal cheesecake which was white chocolate. It was truly decadent and delicious.
While paying out, Iâm assuming a manager stopped by to complete the transaction. When he grabbed our card and gift card, he nervously admitted that their gift card company was having a nationwide outage and would be unable to process the gift card. In the moment we said not much to do besides get charged the full amount out of pocket, but looking back, this is a business to business issue, not a consumer issue. I understand issues happen, but we shouldnât have had to come out of pocket for the gift card we received as a gift. It was very upsetting being told we couldnât redeem a gift card, coming wholly out of pocket, and only being asked our phone number to be told âtheyâd be in touchâ. I feel this could have been handled more professionally and absolutely shouldnât have been put off on us as consumers. Our family always gifts Perryâs gift cards for Christmas & birthdays so now itâs a worry this may happen again. We have always enjoyed coming to Perryâs for special occasions but after an inconvenience this large, I donât believe...
Read moreTOMMY IS RUDE! When my partner and I came to eat, we sat for a while before being greeted by a young lady with water, who was polite enough to let us know he would be over soon. I see her walk away and tell him a few feet behind us, and he just look at us and walks away. He comes back with bread for another table, converses with them, then goes to his next 3 tables, rings something in, and FINALLY comes over to us. He walks up and doesnât say anything besides âYou guys want to order any drinksâ in a very rude way. He doesnât tell us his name or even apologize for the wait. I donât like to make assumptions, but we were the only people of color in the restaurant and weâre also fairly young. It was a very clear case of profiling. We immediately left to go sit at the bar. I appreciate Ryan, the bartender, being very kind after we moved. Travis, the manager, did also apologize on his behalf and offer us free dessert, which we really do appreciate. However, he did mention he couldâve just been having âa bad day.â It happens to my partner and I very often at most restaurants we go to. People see us and stereotype us before even walking up to the table. Bad service and unfriendly exchanges are very common for us in restaurants. Do better. As a server myself, people of color and young people can and will tip you if you treat us with respect. Thatâs something everyone needs to learn, especially you, Tommy.
Update: Ms. Ashley, the general manager, has been so wonderful. She gave me a call with her sincerest apologies, which was so appreciated. She also offered us a gift card, and she encouraged me to return. I am grateful for her being so understanding and kind. Thank...
Read moreWhat should have been a great dining experience at a good premiere steak house turned into a nightmare. I was on a business trip with other colleagues and had invited a couple of our customers out to dinner. I won't talk about the 40 minute wait even though we had reservations. To provide some context, I had researched the menu ahead of time and settled on the 10oz filet mignon. Being a home cook myself, I was really looking forward to a good medium rare (they overcooked it) filet the size of a baseball. Unfortunately, it was nothing like what was promised from their website nor the other two people at our table who had ordered the same filet. Instead, they put a plate in front of me with what looked like a flattened steak, half the size of the baseball sized filet my colleagues had gotten. When I pointed out the discrepancy, the waiter argued it was the same and I protested, "just look at them and you can see they are NOT the same". So besides making me feel bad about questioning why I didn't receive what I had ordered, I had to accept the steak even after they finally offered a new one (after prolonged dialogue), because I knew I would be given the steak when everyone else was done eating. I just don't understand why they would try to pretend what they served me was what I had ordered, especially since it wasn't even close to what my colleagues had ordered. Suffice to say, my experience for a delightful dinner was ruined and even my colleagues commented on the experience and agreed I wasn't served the same entree. Has anyone else had a similar experience? (note the picture below is what I should have received...
