⚠️HONEST REVIEW, we Tried it but it's not a Repeat⚠️ (12/23 Anniversary Dinner. Reservations requested a booth/close to private) Walked in and received a warm welcome from the hostess. The ambiance was set with low lighting and candles on the tables, perfect for a subtle romantic evening (especially for us). According to reviews, there's a sax player on Saturdays, but he was not present. I assume due to the holiday. Our booth was by the bar, nice touch with a few rose petals on the table. Manager came by the table to greet us with a "Happy Anniversary", he was very pleasant. Downfall, servers kept coming through that area because the kitchen is on that side and conversations at the bar were distracting. I noticed that there were booths on the other side/middle of restaurant, that were definitely private 🤔 Our server was very attentive and down to earth. She did check on us a few times, but every time she did, we had food in our mouths. The timing was off, but Im grateful for the checkups. The drinks were amazing. Very nice kick and full of  flavor. Great start. ⚠️ THE FOOD⚠️ complimentary bread and oil and herbs. The pizza was okay. Server brought out the parm cheese and grater, always a plus. Basic crust, meat, and cheese ratio. What i can see is cubed pancetta, sliced sausage, and pepperoni. Confused about  the capicola not on there 🤔 But NO Wow factor, literally basic. The Calamari was okay. Fried nicely. I thought the olives would add salt to compliment the feta and the other flavors, but I guess they were marinated in oil. A lite sprinkle of salt helped this dish. Price matched perfectly. The chicken terra vino would've been great with a starch, like a potato (any form). Description says Roasted Tomates, but I literally had ONE cherry tomato split in half, on top. The Lemon caper butter sauce was AMAZING, especially on the broccolini (cooked perfectly). The rim of my chicken was really hard and crispy, so I ate mostly the middle. 7/10 for me.  The  parpadelle and beef short rib ragu, 4/10. Lacked flavor. The tomato sauce was bland. My husband kept spitting out pieces of fat. Literally no meat to be considered as a "meat sauce". It was not enjoyable and not worth it. 🤬 LASTLY, the server came out with a dessert menu and asked us to select one. She did go over the menu. She didn't ask if we would like to order dessert. Based off the verbiage and how quickly she asked, we assumed complimentary dessert. Thats cool. The Tiramisu was YUMMY and is made in house. Literally the best part of the night. Flavors were there and were not super sweet. 10/10. We were charged for the dessert (we noticed the next day on our receipt) in which we both were shocked, but it's not a big deal at that point. At least write happy anniversary on the plate 😕 Upon check out, We were able to leave a review on this neat little pad the server handed to us. Overall, I'd give the whole terra vino experience 6/10. The flavors were Not on Point. Drinks and Dessert were 10/10. Don't allow the ambiance and service, FOOL YOUR TASTE BUDS. I believe we ordered enough to determine If we'd come back.*our experience with the food did not affect the...

We were searching for Italian food and discovered this place. The photos looked good, so we gave it a shot. I had the chicken avante, it was extremely salty and had a funny texture and flavor, but I couldn't place it. I had not eaten all day so i ate it. Our waiter was new, he didn't check on us very often. I had eaten half the chicken before someone came by to ask how our meal was. My husband had gotten the chicken marsala.. it was even more salty than mine, and his tasted more like brown gravy. Oh, I forgot, there was a girl that came by to put cheese on our food. She was having issues getting the cheese to grate so she opened it and picked up the cheese with her fingers and moved it and then tried again, still didn't work so she put her fingers on it again and moved it. I was like OMGOSH I can not believe how unsanitary this was, especially since all the covid protocols. But we didn't say anything to her. However, we did have to tell the training server just because they need to know, and to instruct her that she can not do that. We also told her the food was very salty so she told the manager and he came over. We explained the situation to him and he apologized and asked if we wanted something else. My husband had already eaten 90% of his so he said no. I asked to try the lasagna . The dinner was very lengthy and we didn't have time to stay so after waiting 15 minutes I asked for mine to go. It still took 20 more minutes to get the bill. 😳 After getting home I opened the lasagna and took one bite . It was gross. The manager had told me it was a light tomato sauce, but actually, it was a lot of meat with very little tomato sauce. So , overall it was a bad experience for me. The only positive thing I can say is that the training server, KAYLEE, was super sweet, so if you do go .. ask for her. As for us, we probably...

I just don’t get the positive reviews for this place. My experience was the complete opposite. I went to Avanti with friends for lunch on August 11, 2021. The star is for the ambiance of the restaurant. It reminded me of the old fashioned Italian restaurants with wine bottles displayed and booths to have a romantic rendezvous. The food was just plain awful. The bread, served with an herbed olive oil dip, was tasteless and dry. For me, soft bread just doesn’t do well with olive oil. You get one disk and everyone is expected to rip off a piece. Not a good idea in this time of Covid. With a hungry group, you have to fight for even the smallest piece of bread. I ordered the Bucatini Avanti with shrimp. My friend ordered the Chicken Ravenna. Both of us agreed that the pasta was dry and overcook. I took some of the dipping sauce for the bread and put it on my dish. That helped. I will say that the shrimp was grilled correctly. However, my dish wasn’t worth $26.00. For the quality of food, this place is way overpriced for what you get. The service also was dubious. My friend went to the restaurant. The server took a long time to acknowledge her return and take her drink order. That can happen in a busy restaurant but we were the only ones there. At the end of the meal, we weren’t offered coffee or dessert. When we were handed our bills, we were told to give them back because she had put one of my drinks on my friend’s bill. You hand us a bill and then we have to return it? Couldn’t that been done before the bill was given to us? Very disappointed and have no plans to return. Nor...

During a recent business trip to The Woodlands, I was looking for a restaurant not too far from my hotel for a nice dinner. I was very happy to find Avanti and I'll definitely go back if I make it to that part of Houston again. I wanted a salad, some protein and a glass of Pinot Noir. I scanned the menu and decided on the Panzanella salad (Arugula, heirloom tomato, English cucumber, croutons, red onion, house vinaigrette), Chicken Avanti (Parmesan-panko crusted chicken breast, shallots, garlic, basil, capers, roasted tomatoes, white wine lemon-butter sauce, herb roasted red potatoes, & broccolini.) and a wonderful glass of Pinot Noir. Service was excellent and I was quickly greeted with a small basket of focaccia bread and dipping oil. The salad was nicely chilled and primarily well-dressed arugula which was full of flavor. The bread cubes were minimal, which I appreciated, but they had absorbed the delicious vinaigrette. The chicken Avanti was perfect and the lemon caper sauce was delicious! The roasted potatoes and broccollini were also prepared perfectly. Even though I was really hungry after a long work day, it was more food than I could consume and the leftover salad and chicken made a wonderful lunch salad the following day!
