East Coast Wings + Grill — Restaurant in Thomasville

When I first walked in there's a strange smell. Maybe it's because the bathrooms are right at the front entrance. There were a handful of people at the bar & a couple booths filled. We did wait a few before being acknowledged. Food grade is 92.5 The bathrooms are one person and the door lock doesn't work properly. Bathroom could have used some tidying up. There was a chart on the back of the door for bathroom checks by staff, completely blank. My hubby got a chicken sandwich entree & he said it was ok. I got steak tacos with a salad. Salad is a $0.99 upgrade and very much so worth it. Shredded steak on tacos wasn't bad. I don't recommend the tacos with salad as a side bc it's like getting a salad with salad on top of the steak taco. My friend got the southwestern chicken salad (which was a hefty amount of food. No skimmping there) but she felt the chicken was too salty, I tasted it & it wouldn't be something I'd order in the future. We got bbq wings and they looked like half a bottle of sauce was just dumped on top. Interesting fact is you can get the kids wings that comes with 5 boned wings, a side, and drink for around. $7, yet if you order 5 boned wings alone its like around $10. Our total bill was around $52 with tip. Service was mediocre. My mtn dew was a lil flat & had a lemon seed in it. Drink was replaced & it was point on with the carbonation/color, very strange. I don't plan to go back bc the food wasn't that great, the place smelled strange, and to be honest I was a Lil concerned about cleanliness. Normally I am a huge fan of East Coast Wings. I would even say it's one of my favorite restaurants. Well tonight we showed up at 8:30pm on a Saturday night with a party size of 13. When standing at the hostess stand waiting for them to get us a table, the hostess tries to find us a waitress that was willing to take on our party. One waitress, that had really short hair, pitched a literal fit that she was going to be given our table. Another waitress at the bar hollered that she was closed and she wasn't taking us. The hostess said well gosh I didn't want to sit them with the other waiter because I just sat someone in his section.

Look I'm sorry but this just totally rubbed me the wrong way. Seeing waitresses bickering about taking our party was so uncalled for and unprofessional. I mean you would think staff would be jumping at the chance for a large party because that usually means nice tips. Anyway, we told the hostess to just cancel our table because we were leaving after witnessing that. It was clear that our business was unwanted by any of the servers there. I don't really understand why they were so disgusted with taking another table, it's not like we walked in at closing time. It was 8:30pm on a Saturday!! I hope management sees this and has a talk with staff about their behavior in front of customers because it was completely unacceptable. Waitress took 20 minutes to come to my table after being seated in a dining room with three tables of patrons. Asked for my drink order of water and Required me to wait until she discussed the weather at a served table, even though I told her I was ready to order food. Then walked back past me and still didn't take my order. Went to get water, came back five minutes later to take my order. I waited another 30 minutes for deep fried wings.Watched other waitress deliver food to those two occupied tables;1 who came in before me and 1 who came in after me. My Food was NEVER served nor did waitress come to my table to even account for RIDICULOUS WAIT FOR CHICKEN. I might add, I was the only Black customer in the entire establishment. 🤔 U figure what that was about. I walked with my DOLLARS!!!! I wish there was an option for NEGATIVE STARS. What's worse, none of the other waitresses or managers took notice that I had no food and inquired as to why. Plenty of employees came to the table adjacent to mine to play with the child and interact with people who appeared connected to staff..... Note: I am not upset.
