Excellent place for any any occasion. I went here on a date night with husband and was pleasantly surprised. First off... I was looking for a store front, not an actual house. Think 20s Era -with tall ceilings and beautiful windows, flooring, and chandeliers which lent their gentle lighting. The dining area was gently lit, but not so dark to be disconcerting. The tables were set wide enough to not knock into other tables, and can accommodate a wheelchair. (We went up the front steps but did not notice a wheelchair ramp....but neither was I looking for one- sorry about that!) I would advise that the steps be either repainted or redone so that you can tell the difference between the steps. The service was wonderful and responsive. We didn't have to wait forever for the check and our drinks were never empty. I found out that the deserts are handmade daily by the chef. I was disappointed that they didn't have cannolis or tiramisu. But they did have 6 kinds of cheesecake. The meal opened with fresh bread that came with an herbed olive oil. We chose to have 2 entrees- Veal Parmesan as well as the Spaghettti alla Bruzzi. Both of these entrees came with a side salad. I chose to upgrade to a different salad offered on the menu for a small fee. The tomato salad was great. It comes with a house vinaigrette. The vinaigrette in conjunction with the tomatoes reminded me of Bruschetta. It was light and refreshing. The portions of the Veal and spaghetti were just right. It's enough for a healthy appetite or a small appetite with some to go for lunch the next day. The entrees did have extra sauce (better to sop up with the provided bread.) I suspect that we could definitely asked for items to be lightly sauced, but I enjoyed it. They did have a wine list and cocktail drink list. It appeared to have a good mix with options to order wine by glass or bottle. Cocktails/mixed drink priced per order as normal. We did not imbibe so I cannot comment on the quality of the drinks. The server was wonderful and friendly and informative. The ladies restroom was well stocked, very clean, and disability enabled. I would defintely recommend this restaurant as a place to go...

Within 30 seconds or walking in the door I was greeted by a gentleman who I am assuming is "Dad" and shown to a neat clean corner table for one. My waiter Charlie was just wrapping up seating the family that came in before me but he was courteous enough to acknowledge me and let me know he would be right with me (another important wait-staff skill that seems to have fallen into obscurity). Charlie came back to me in less than a minute (and the place was not empty so its not like i was the only patron) and delivered some bread and butter to the table. I had the calamari as my appetizer and I was fairly impressed. It was lightly battered and seasoned and cooked well. The calamari were tender and really didnt require the dipping sauce. As a calamari purist i was a little taken aback by their pairing of this with a shrimp cocktail sauce but, as I have a sweet tooth, it was not a pairing I disliked... at least not at first. Towards the end the dip tasted like nothing more than a slightly sweet ketchup so I ate the remainder of the calamari without and was quite happy without it. Next time I come back I'll try to remember to specifically ask for marinara instead. I ordered their special Ahi tuna and the chef is obviously one of my people (or at least know what to do with Tuna) the steak came out perfectly cooked, all pink in the middle with a few millimeters of seared Tuna on the top and bottom. The seasoning is very light and their match it up with capers, onion slaw and what smelled and tasted like soy sauce. All the options were in small containers so there was no cross contamination or over seasoning. The steak required none of these but the capers and onion slaw really did go well with it. I passed on the soy thing. I got their alfredo as my side pasta for a slight upcharge and i enjoyed it. A nice smooth creamy cheese sauce and loads of parmesan cheese over the top (did I mention these are my kind of people). I like my pastas a bit more aldente but I wouldn't hold that against them.

Good food, friendly attentive staff and a decent price I will definitely be back to try something else off the menu as there is no fun in eating the same...

We ordered takeout. Three entries - chicken alfredo, shrimp scampi, and a kids lasagna. With the addition of stuffed mushrooms and fried mozzarella.

The order was put in around 5:45 pm and proposed to be ready at 6:27 pm via the online system. (Granted - We had wanted to order via phone, but were redirected to the online system. Call in orders ‘easier’ via the app).

When arriving at 6:30 pm, we were told it would be 3 more minutes. Finally at 6:50 pm, we walked out of the restaurant with our food. It would have been appreciated to have a phone call to been notified of this delay before arriving - much better than waiting outside or in the small waiting area with other patrons trying to be seated.

When arriving at home, the mozzarella and mushrooms were cold - fried mozzarella tried to be warmed up, but still remained like a packaged cheese stick covered in breadcrumbs. The other food wasn’t as cold, but by no means a desirable temperature that did not require additional reheating after plating at the table post-3 minute ride home from the restaurant.

Bringing family into town, I wanted to have a nice meal in, however did not have the quality of an experience I have had in the past with your establishment.

(One month later) Emailed restaurant directly because I could not get through on the phone. Have had...

Update: They lied to OpenTable & marked us as no-shows for the reservation since I posted this review. Since our server comped our food, we don’t have a receipt, but we do have a picture of the food that we brought home. It was gross & is now in the trash. I ordered the Chicken Antonio (w/ the spinach & feta cheese) & my husband got chicken alfredo. The chicken alfredo looked like the precooked chicken in the freezer section at Walmart. All of the chicken was dry and unseasoned. Maybe if the manager/owner, whoever that rude man was would do his job instead watching football up front, it would be better. We got drinks and appetizers pretty fast, but then didn’t get food for over an hour. When we finally asked for it, it still took 10 minutes and then was cold. Our server was really nice and she comped the food. The manager was rude and would never come back when we wanted to pay. We won’t be back to this location. Tallahasee is much better!

Mom and Dad's is absolutely our favorite go-to restaurant. The Pistelli family are great people that go out of their way to make sure everyone has an exceptional dining experience. Danilo always greets us warmly and suggests the best choices for dinner. Anna's cheesecakes are absolutely to die for so please make sure you don't skip dessert even if you have to take it home for later. Most of the wait staff has worked in this restaurant for years and are more than servers, they truly care about the people they are serving. If you want a steak please try the Nino Filet with a side of spaghetti with meat sauce. Looking for pasta, try the Lasagna with house made noodles or the house made Pappardelle with meat sauce! All portions are large enough that we always carry a to-go box home with left overs. Make sure you take home bread in your to-go box! Mom and Dad's bread make the absolute best french toast!
