I love Kenny's. However, per my visit just moments ago, I received crispy burnt thinly cut ribs. My mother who was with me, received an excellent meal. I just read another review from a Latina woman who is married to an African American man. They apparently messed up her eighty dollar order until her black husband called in an had it straightened out. I am an African American man. My mother is black as well. I am a very light skinned person. One can't help to think that the staff probably assumed that I was a white man and thus gave me scraps instead of a meaty meal. Which I am surprised that my mother's order at least was decent. Is the staff there serving food based on what they percieve (though incorrectly) the customer's nationality is? I certainly hope not! So in the future I guess I will just have to call my order in so that they don't see me until I pick it up. Sad that thus seems to be the way of the world. And as an ordained minister, I am saddened at this treatment of not only myself, but of some other customers who have their own horror stories about how they were treated. I pray that their hearts and mindsets change. Juneteenth, freed together yet kill each other not only physically, but in treatment. I hope that they never get angry at another white man, because they treat their own the same...
Read moreI wondered why I had not been to Kennys Ribs in a few years. After going last night, I realize why. I ordered six wings, the bill was well over $12. No problem. However, if I am going to spend $12 on wings, they need to look like $12 wings. These wings were no bigger than a silver dollar. There were maybe about seven french fries.
The pricing on the board stated six wings for $9.99. However, when she rang me up, she rang me at $12.67. I advised her the board stated $9.99. She then proceeded to produce a paper menu that stated $10.99. Once again, No problem. Your price is your price, and I will pay what I am advised to pay. They just need to serve according to what the customer is paying. I understand prices have risen and cost points are no longer what they used to be. Got it. However, to serve six wings no bigger than a silver dollar, accompanied with seven french fries and a teaspoon of mild sauce, is unacceptable. If the employees there went anywhere else and they were served like that, they would not appreciate it.
When I picked up my bag from them, I stated to the cashier that the bag seems extremely light. She stated, “ well there are definitely six wings inside”I understand why I have not been to Kennys Ribs in years. I will...
Read moreThis was my first time eating here. What made me try it was the BBQ smell outside. It smelled delicious. So I went inside to order. Young girl at the register was not to polite. But she assisted with my Groupon questions that I had. It looked like she was a bit annoyed. So I ordered a slab of ribs, Mac and cheese and rib tips. At first she said it came with Cole slaw and corn bread and my order was short. I had to pay for the corn bread. That corn bread was so cold and had no flavor. The Mac and cheese was so dried up ,it is like it was sitting there the entire day. The rib meat was so hard to chew and swallow. BBQ sauce was good and the fries. The bathroom was clean. So clean that the sink was dry to where no one has washed they hands in days. I glanced into the kitchen and did not see a sink. I'm grossed out. You can't tell me no one has not used the bathroom. The tables are not sanitized and overall experience was a disappointment except for the music they were playing. I do not recommend you spending your hard working money here. Because it is too expensive to chock on hard rubbery meat and old Mac and cold bread. You all can do...
