I was craving street tacos. Yelp helped me find this place. I love little gems like this place. They have a lot of meat choices for tacos like the usual: pollo asada, carne asada, carnitas, pescado (cod! Yum) and even shortrib meat. They also had other meat choices which to this day I can never bring myself to try, such as cabeza (is that cow brains?) And lengua (cow tongue meat which I have heard is very delicious and tender, I'm just not tempted enough to try it). I ordered 4 tacos. Pollo, carne asada, short ribs, fish. ALL delicious. The carne asada and pollo asada was delicious and very lean and a bit dry (hence the 4🌟's but really should be 4.9🌟s if I had the option to give that!). But doctoring them up with the goodies at the salsa bar, such as the green salsa, onions, pickled onions, radishes and limes, helped a lot! The short ribs and pescado were a knockout. I washed everything down with the fresh watermelon juice drink they make and that was SO tastey. I was so impressed with Bad Ass Tacos that before I left, I ordered 2 burritos to go with half short rib meat and half chicken in both of them. One was for my husband and the other for me later! Lol. I'm not sure if I was supposed to get chips with my orders, but I didn't get any. I saw other folk with them, so I'm not sure if you have to ask for them, or if they forgot to offer them to me, or if they are even complementary. I will partake in more yumminess at Bad Ass Tacos when I have that hankering for street tacos again. P.S. they have a small dining area inside, but a covered tent with Italian bulb lights outside with more room to eat with picnic style tables and benches. On the front of the store there are little tables available too. No pets allowed. So I left my pooch in the car (it was evening so no hot doggy in the car,...

I first learned about Bad Ass Tacos last year from watching the Burrous Bites segment on the KTLA Weekend Morning News. I finally had the chance to try it out the other day as I passed through Thousand Oaks, and it did not disappoint!

In the segment, reporter Chris Burrous tried the taco with short rib meat, so of course, I bought one as well. The meat was very flavorful, and its juices oozed out with each bite – so tasty!

I also had two other tacos – one with carne asada, the other with Poc-Chuc (grilled pork shoulder). The carne asada was also very tasty! It was not greasy and not loaded with excess pieces of fat, in comparison to other street tacos that I have had at other places. The Poc-Chuc was a little underwhelming to what I thought it might be (pork shoulder grilled and marinated in lime juice, onions, and other spices), but it was still good as well.

To give you a heads-up, parking is available in the back. You enter in the little driveway to the left of Bad Ass Tacos. I had to make a U-turn and back out of a couple of other driveways to other businesses to eventually find the right parking lot.

I will definitely return to this location the next time I’m in T.O. to try out something else on their menu! I hope my pictures and review help in your decision to visit...

Most of the time the food is definitely good. Unfortunately every time I come the vibe of the workers is not friendly at all. Today the guy who was bringing out the food had an excellent attitude and vibe. When he brought my daughter her food she took a couple bites and as she realized it was the wrong burrito and at the same time, he came out and said it was the wrong burrito. He offered the correct burrito and she asked if she could just have the burrito on the next visit. He told her when she was done to come inside and give her info. A while later another server came out and brought the burrito. We explained everything that previously happened and she went in to talk to the owner. The owner was not customer friendly and neither honored what the original server agreed to and did not give the already made burrito. Besides today's incident I will say they are never very friendly when taking orders which is a shame because the food is decent but they just kill the experience. I keep saying I won't go back and end up there. After today we won't be going back. The owner is not nice or...

A real Mexican street taco experience. This is a pop-up restaurant that happens Thurs. through Sun. at Thousand Oaks BBQ & Meat Locker. These are pretty much the best tacos in Ventura County, served street style for an authentic street food experience. You can choose from a variety of meats including carne asada & fish at $1.75 per taco. Cash only. The salsa bar has 3 or 4 types of salsa plus onions, radishes & cilantro. Part of the charm of the experience is sitting outside on picnic tables under an open canopy while Mexican music blares on the radio. Good place to grab a late night bite since they are open until midnight Fri & Sat, 11 pm the other days. I see they are opening their own brick & mortar down the street but are in their original location tonight. Hope the new location retains the street food vibe that, besides the food, makes this place so interesting.

DELICIOUS STREET TACOS- Small restaurant with limited menu. Outside and inside seating- not sure if Air Conditioning was just broken the day we visited- but it was pretty hot both inside and out. Tacos are about $2.00 each- a little pricey for the size. There is a nice salsa bar, and all you can drink fountain drinks. All staff were friendly, and there was Festive Mexican music playing. This restaurant seemed to be very popular with locals, as I could tell by the conversations that many of the customers lived in the area. Chips and Salsa are not complimentary, but available for a reasonable price as a 'side'. You order at the counter and they call your name when your order is ready. Overall, the food was very good and I would go back if I was in the area.
