Daphne's — Restaurant in Thousand Oaks

We arrived early but they seated us after we asked. Staff brought water and inquired if we wanted lemon wedges and happy that they offered said yes. Lemon never came so we had to ask for it. Ordered dinner, two appetizers and two entrees. They brought the octopus and the server said "Octopus?" We said yes and she barely slid the pan on the table's edge. It was flavorful with butter and garlic but slightly tough. Had the red and whitecsalad which they split for us. This was excellent. Sand dabs were breaded and tasted very eggy. Halibut was so overcooked I sent it back. Staff did not check on us so my husband was done with his Dabs. I declined a refuge. We got the housemate tiramisu which was excellent as well as the chocolate mousse. They took the halibut off the bill and did not charge for dessert. Disappointing meal but...

This place is awesome! I have been here many times, because I work across the street, and it is always good. The staff is super nice, and the food is always amazing (I would recommend the gyro, shrimp, and fish especially) and the portion sizes are huge (at least, for me). The salad is also really good, and they give you an almost absurd amount of excellent rice, which is a great touch on an already fantastic experience. I also like their pita bread, and I rarely even like pita bread. They have a couple of great sauces, too, which is just icing...

Had a gyro pita, fries and a side of pita and hummus. Everything was delicious, fresh, served at the correct temperature and pleasantly plated.

They have Sprite Zero, a no calorie, no caffeine drink. So unusual to find in a restaurant these days. (Usually my only such choice is water )

The cashier was helpful, attentive, knowledgeable, friendly professional.

With tax and tip, my feast was around $24, reasonable for the quality and quantity of the meal.

It's been a while since I was last here but I will be back...
