Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Thousand Oaks

I feel like this review requires a bit of clarification. I try to keep my reviews fair, and part of fairness is based on expectations of what something SHOULD be. I gave this review 5 stars... for a Jack in the Box... Now this doesn't mean that I like this Jack in the Box more than some other more fancy restaurants that I may have given a lesser rating to. I'm rating this against ones expectation of what a Jack in the Box could and should be. Are you with me?

My son really enjoys Jack in the Box as something different. We don't go that often, but it's a fun treat every now and then. Myself as a Keto person, Jack in the Box is very good about doing anything you ask for as lettuce wraps. Other places will do it, but too many places meet your with blank stares like I just asked them to solve s Rubik's cube... where JITB just does what you ask. Additionally, they have more options than your typical fast food place. I love In N Out, and either get something protein style or a Flying Dutchmen... but after so many times, it gets old... and at JITB, they have some variety. Wish they had a grilled chicken sandwich... that's a place where they could improve.

But that's all JITBs... why does THIS one get 5 stars? First of all, it's very clean. NOT something that can be said for most of them. In fact, I usually only use the drive throughs when going to JITB, but there are two things about THIS one that make me want to go in:

They have one of those AMAZING soda machines that give you every option imaginable! As a lover of soda (when going to a restaurant), but someone who can only zero sugar drinks, this machine makes you feel like a kid again! I can get Zero Sugar Orange soda! Hell, I could get Zero Sugar GRAPE soda! I could mix and match until my hearts content! All with Zero sugar! That's super fun, I won't lie.

It's actually clean. I can't remember the last time I actually went into a fast food restaurant and ate there! But you can here and feel good about it.

The staff is also typically very kind. This last time my order was taken by Angel (according to the receipt) and she was great. They even made one mistake in the kitchen, and she took care of it right away, easy-peasy.

So is this Jack in the box my new favorite place to go? No, of course not... BUT... whenever we're in the food for it, THIS will absolutely be the one...

I am a lover of fast food, it is cheap and delicious and it usually will not disappoint. This could not stand truer for this newly opened Jack In The Box. I have been going here for the last few weeks and this place has been consistent in their quality. One of my favorite features is the elusive power outlet. Most fast food places despise this little thing and will often install metal panels in front of it to prevent people charging their devices. This Jack In The Box does the opposite they embrace it, take a picture anywhere here and you will see a if not multiple power outlet. Besides the luxury of charging this place is so dang clean, I appreciate the modernistic feel, but to be able to sit anywhere without remnants of a previous meal is a commodity few have. The service is spectacular and will assist you efficiently and happily. All in all, this is a place that is the safest bet for a quick bite to eat or a hangout with friends. Time and time again this place has never let me down between the new Coca-Cola Freestyle or the delicious tacos. Food was good, made to order, fresh came how you asked for it. The only problem is I've noticed at alot of Jack in the Box in Ventura County has a sign that says, "Now accepting EBT!" EBT what? Cash or SNAPS? I walked up to a worker and asked and she seemed confused but said, EBT Cash. OK! I got both...really just SNAPS and a lingering $13 from a few months ago. I order thru drive thru. Once I pull up to the window, I try and get a 2nd answer. I don't they understood what I was asking because all I got was a, "Yes!" So I ask to run my card as SNAPS..."Declined!" OK then it must be just cash they accept(EBT Cash)? I ask them to run my card as Cash..."Declined!" I finally just say, "eF it! Just use my debit card" & hand over my debit card. While waiting for my food, I check my EBT balance on the SNAPS app and I still have the $13 in cash and more than enough SNAPS to pay for my Jack in the Box order on the...
