I recently visited this Cold Stone location and had an experience that left me disappointed. I ordered a scoop of ice cream with Oreo mix-ins, but I wasn’t informed that there were two types—original and golden Oreos. As a customer, I would have appreciated clarification. As someone that’s worked in food for years, if someone were to order a lemonade for example and we just so happen to have original and strawberry on the menu, I would simply mention it to the customer just in case. That’s just a part of taking orders.
Once I noticed the golden Oreos, I politely preface that it would be OK if this isn’t possible, but I wanted golden Oreos instead and I just wasn’t aware that it was an option. The employee seemed annoyed that she would have to throw away the scoop of ice cream and start over. While I understand food waste is a concern, I was taken aback by her attitude, which made me feel as if my request was unreasonable. Not only that, but it just seemed a little illogical; the attitude itself could have easily caused me to walk out. Then they would’ve lost that sale anyways, AND still have to throw away the one scoop of ice cream. One scoop of ice cream isn’t coming out of her paycheck… or maybe it is. I don’t know. 🤷🏻♀️
Clear communication about available options and a more customer-friendly approach would have made this a much better experience. I hope management considers training staff to inform customers of choices upfront to avoid confusion...
Read moreThey don't accept $100 bills no matter how much one is spending so that was really inconvenient and after waiting twenty minutes to get through the line had to go out to another store in order to get change and to come back and wait another twenty minutes. Customer service was subpar but they were all highschool kids so no surprise there. Also somehow missed putting the sprinkles on my ice cream but by thr time the cashier cashed me out and realizing it was mine sitting on thr counter the cashier had disappeared and the person who scooped it all up was busy helping someone else and after such a trip intended to be quick turned into a full hour later, I simply took my sprinkle-less waffle cone and left. Icecream was really sweet and difficult to eat much of it as it very quickly made me feel sick and I had only gotten their smallest serving. Probably won't be back as Baskin Robbins is closer and their product is not so sweet and service much better. May change review depending on quality of the icecream cake I...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went in to get ice cream and he got the "mine" size and ordered some kind of cake ice cream, this girl with dark brown hair scooped the ice cream then proceeded to mix it so much it was like a milkshake- then dumped it into the cup, not filling it all the way and then getting the sticky ice cream all over the sides. One of the other employees made mine perfectly! We went back a few days later and this time my boyfriend worked with another employee getting the same size and it was great! I had the assistance of the same girl and the cup, the "love it" size wasn't full all the way and soupy because it was mixed so thoroughly. On top of these interactions, her attitude has been terrible and she acts like she hates her job. We'll be asking for assistance from one of the other employees...
