I come here most days regardless of my vote, for me a 10/10 love this place and their staff is amazingly sweet, artists, happy, good vibes. The service is anyone's only complaint ever however when choosing here understand the quality is better than quantity. I don't speak for them mentally but they work hard to keep pace and keep up, if you are in a convenience hurry kind of pace, don't get your coffee here during that time. Any! Other! Time! Come to symposium. I've never had a bad coffee (been here since feb) never had a bad pastry (even day old is delicious) and most definitely never had a bad encounter here. Love it here.
Suggestion: lavender latte (with oat) with lavender toppings, raspberry scone (warmed) or a chocolate muffin. Check out the barista art as well as local artists art. Small and large prints available for nearly any art you might enjoy. Love enough. they have t-shirts (soft, emprinted tag) sweatshirts, snapback hats (dark and light colors), mugs, books, coffee beans.
Take a second to look up and see how many different light bulb covers you can count.
Come when its sunny and relax outside while still in the coffee shop vibes.
Come later, add liquor to your cup

Read moreMy iced matcha had many small to fairly large clumps of matcha powder floating in the drink?? This made it nearly undrinkable because if I got a chunk in my mouth it would be so insanely bitter.
I mentioned this while in the shop and the guy who made my drink said that it was because they used sweetened matcha powder (?) and told me to use a straw because the clumps floated to the top. I’ve had so many iced matchas, made with a variety of powders, and I’ve never seen this before?? Also the straw didn’t help because there was a lot of small clumps on the bottom of the drink that were also unpleasant to experience.
I ended up straining the drink as soon as I got home and that mostly solved the problem (although it didn’t have a very strong matcha flavor after I did that lol). I feel bad leaving a bad review if it’s a honest mistake/some issue with the powder but it seems like to be an issue with all the matchas judging from what the barista said and I feel like the store should stop selling matcha (or have a disclaimer or something) if this happens with every single one?? I don’t want some other poor innocent soul to have to chew through bitter chunks to drink...
Read moreI love Symposium! The baristas are always super friendly and chill. A few of the baristas that I see regularly make casual conversation with me which is nice. I always look forward to stopping in and chatting for a minute. I started working near the Tigard location and stop in at least once a week (if not more) to get my Iced Hibiscus lemonade with blackberry syrup (which I highly recommend). They also offer free refills for the iced hibiscus lemonade which is so nice!! I also order the gluten free/vegan pumpkin bread occasionally which I also love. As someone with celiac disease and a dairy/egg allergy - it's phenomenal. It is stored in the same display case as the rest of the baked goods so it may not be considered safe for those with celiac disease who are extremely sensitive to potentially cross contamination. I personally haven't had any issues with it so far but definitely make that assessment for yourself based on your dietary requirements. S/o specifically to the barista who listens to Mystery Skulls and the one who always calls out my name when I enter - you guys are great! Keep...
