I've lived next to this park for 24 years and while it never closes I strongly advise you not to be in this park at night. It doesn't matter your age or gender it's a dangerous place to be when the sun goes down. The problem is it attracts people who are up to no good and homeless people camping out. People have been robbed or mugged numerous times in this park. Sometimes they will have an officer walking around to warn other people, but mostly you're on your own. It's an absolutely beautiful place to walk during the day time though. I know what I've said sounds horrible and you wouldn't want to go there at all, but me and my toddler son walk through this park all the time and we have a lovely time. They have beautiful bridges and the trees and bushes have overgrown making tunnels on the trail. We've seen beavers and nutria in the water and summertime is great for picking blackberries. Read moreThis was a great way to get the dogs out and beat the heat. A lot of Fanno Creek trail is sheltered from the sun by amazing trees and greenery. Much of the trails goes along Fanno Creek and divides wetlands, the nature parks and green spaces from residential areas. Along the path, there are a number of parks and fields with playgrounds, basketball courts, baseball fields with access to bathrooms and garbage cans. I parked near Dirksen Nature Park and headed north towards Beaverton. We crossed a couple of roadways but the crosswalks are clearly marked and people seemed used to slowing down for pedestrians.
