This was the first time I had been back to this space after it changed ownership hands several years ago. We went here to meet up with friends for happy hour the other night, and it very much felt like the same vibe as before. Except there's a stage for live music now instead of play space and video game area. It's giving Pacific NW could-be-at-any-local-microbrewery vibes: wood everywhere, random local sports team flags, beer company posters on the wall. It's a large space with plenty of seating both inside and out.
There were a good amount of beers on tap and a nice variety. A couple of us had ciders while the others had beers, and they were all enjoyable.
I do love that they have happy hour every day, including weekends, from 2-5pm. We ordered the sliders and the vegetable tempura to share, and that was just the right amount for me and my husband to split. And both were delicious!
What really surprised and impressed me was the service. It was terrible here before with the previous owners, and I had heard rumblings that the bad service continued. However, on our visit, the servers were awesome. They took our orders when we were ready, without having to wait too long, and they checked in with us throughout the night. Everyone we encountered who worked there was super friendly and helpful.
The location is right off of Main Street in downtown Tigard. While it used to be super easy to find street parking right out front, it's starting to get busier as more businesses open up, so give yourself a few extra minutes to find parking. Someone was leaving their spot right when we got there, so we were lucky and snagged a spot right out front, but the rest of the street was packed.
Overall, it's a decent spot to meet up with friends for happy hour. The ambience/decor is sort of all over the place, and the other food options on the main menu didn't inspire me (almost everything had cheese or other dairy), hence the four stars. But other than that, it's worth checking out for beers/ciders...
Read moreCame in around 3:50p after the main rush. We were seated near the bar at one of two high tables. We had to wait over 20 minutes before the host noticed that no one was helping us; we had not even been given menus. It appeared from the outside to be a very disorganized operation and not due to being understaffed. We noticed a lot of people standing around and we kept getting told that they were very busy. At one point, we heard the bar tender and the host discussing our situation and we felt as if we had done something wrong. The entire experience was very off putting.
The food was actually very good, though. The host did his best to take care of us and comped our meal, which was appreciated. I am not sure if we will be back because even though the food was good we highly value service and certainly don't want to be made to feel a burden.
Update: Responding to the response from the owner.
The only person to assist us was the employee that I perceived as the host that was also tending to the patio and a brief interaction with someone dropping off our food. Either A) you're the person that dropped off our food, in which case you never identified yourself as the owner or B) you're lying that you spoke with us. It is unfortunate, that this is the response we received.
I believe that my review was fair and acknowledged that the bill was taken care of and also mentioning about the quality of the food was good. Your response, however, only furthers the feeling that your establishment only saw us as a burden and that we somehow have any blame in what occurred....
Read moreBeen here 3 times. First time was fine, had samples, pints, and food. Service was a little slow but not too bad. Second time was about the same. Our waiter was a short stocky bald man, don't remember his name. Never smiled but wasn't rude. Provided samples, pints, and food. Everything went fine but he could have been more friendly.
Latest trip was very different. Sat at the bar. Same stocky man provided a few samples then just walked away. Main bartender is a man who is taller, wore hat, and glasses. Never asked his name.
After our samples, myself and friend ordered a few pints each. No problem. I asked for another sample. Bartender with glasses said no. Why not? He said the limit is 3 per customer.
REALLY? $6 a beer and can't even sample it first? He said that's company policy. I told him the last time we were here the stocky server gave us several. Bartender said no more. He asked if we wanted to go ahead and just get beer. No I'm not paying $6 and gambling if I will like it.
I told him that is a ridiculous policy and I wanted to escalate it to the owners. He basically argued and said that's how it is, there is a limit, and we are already getting a deal on cheap pints. $6 is NOT cheap, that is standard price at most breweries.
So basically, after 2 or 3 samples, we are not allowed any more. We had already ordered 2 pints each. I just wanted to know if I liked a beer enough to pay the price. He refused more samples.
We...
