Cafe Mirage — Restaurant in Tobyhanna Township

Sorely disappointed in the meal prep of this establishment. I've been going to Kalahari for 10 plus years and the meals have gone down hill. Tonight my daughter was provided a meal not fit for consumption. The chicken tenders were the size of a nugget and hidden under the fries ( I believe intentionally), they were hard and burnt. Images included. I went down to return and no apology was provided by the counterperson, in fact, he appeared to be amused by the state of the food. I seen him walk in and show it to another staff member and they both laughed. Disgusted. I was appalled when he noted the size and asked if I wanted more, ignored the fact they were burnt and dried out. I spoke with a manager who showed more empathy but by then I wanted my money back. I know this is NOT how the owners would want their establishment run..Anyway, going forward I will not patronize this restaurant. I'll bring my own meals when visiting or drive to the local restaurants who are within a 10 min drive to include the top Fast food restaurants and...

Disappointing Experience at Café Mirage – Kalahari Poconos

We had a very poor experience at Café Mirage, located right at the entrance of the indoor waterpark. I ordered a pizza for 2 families with kids and was given number 442. Despite clearly telling the staff that I was waiting for a pizza (which was on the counter!), they skipped my order and left it sitting on the counter. They kept serving others instead, even people who arrived after us. I chose not to tip in advance because I wanted to see the level of service first. I was with a family of friends who also didn’t tip up front, and they received the order (fries). We ordered a roughly $25 14" (large for most places) pizza.

Given a 30 minute estimate. We called for an update after an hour and were told it was on the way. 30 minutes later called again and were told they never got our order. They comped the order and delivered it finally after 2 hours.

What arrived was a cafeteria pizza. Flat, flavorless, with basically heaped on mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce with barely any seasoning, and for the $3.50 of topping our 4 year old was asking "where are the mushrooms?"

For the same time and the same dollars you could drive out somewhere get more better food from even a Domino's. Don't...
