Very big swanky place to eat at the water park. There weren’t many tables filled at 6:30 on a Friday. We did make a reservation.
Other reviews mentioned the long wait for food but we didn’t wait longer than I would have expected to, drinks came out in 10 min food like 20-30 min. What actually annoyed me was the crayon scribbles on the adult menu. Clearly a kid got to a couple of menus and they should have replaced those pages. It takes you out of the fancy experience to have a dirty menu with crayon scribbles on it.
The waitress brought out two bread loaves for us with chive butter. I asked for olive oil because the bread was a bit dry. Tasted better in olive oil to me than with the butter.
We got hanging bacon. 4 strips for $19. It tasted like regular bacon, slightly sweeter. Calamari app was very salty. I liked the garlic sauce that came with it though.
I got the marshmallow cocktail for $17. Sweet, creamy and delicious. I got two and it got me happy drunk. The marshmallows on it as garnish were cold even though they were torched.
I got the Caesar salad for my entree with grilled chicken. $15 + $7 for chicken which Is probably the most affordable and biggest portion item you can get here. Lots of crispy Romain lettuce, anchovies and a perfectly cooked soft boiled egg. The dressing on it was light and the chicken had a strong but delicious grilled flavor. I loved it! My husband had a burger, he got it well done and it was dry though he liked it. Also it was very salty. The burger did not come with fries and the waitress brought them over for us but then charged us $7 for them.
It was my nephews birthday and he wanted the filet, he got the adult size and finished most of it and really liked it. It was very plain though to me. He put a lot of salt on it because of that. Other nephews got the lobster Mac and cheese, it was very big and he couldn’t finish it all. I didn’t see much lobster in there though. Other family members got rib eye and sea bass and they liked it a lot. The bourbon glazed mushroom side was big but tasted like earth, no bourbon or other flavor to them.
Our waitress knew we had a birthday and at the end brought over a slice of cheesecake complimentary which was really nice.
The bill was $500 for a family of 6
The prices are too expensive but all in all we had a great experience and...
Read moreAfter a fun day of enjoying the water park, my boyfriend and I were very excited to try Double Cut. We got seated at around 8:17. We had our drink and food order taken about 15 minutes into us being there. Our waters came right away as well as the bread is given to every table. The bread was extremely difficult to cut into, maybe if they gave a different knife it would have been better? Our appetizer, crab cakes, came about 30 minutes after ordering it. The crab cakes were the best part of the entire meal, although they were still partially cold in the middle. Our entrees didn’t come till about 45 minutes after the appetizers. Our waitress was never anywhere to be found during that time annd seemed like she was specifically avoiding us. And when she was near our table, she would speed walk past which wouldn’t allow us to stop her. When our entrees finally came, you could tell that they had been left sitting waiting to be brought out. I ordered the ribeye with brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. My ribeye was supposed to be medium-rare. Meanwhile half of it was rare and the other half was medium. My mashed potatoes had barely any flavor and were hard from sitting out for so long waiting to be brought out to our table. My boyfriend ordered the Salmon entree. It had no flavor and was just overall disgusting. I was so fed up with how long we waited for everything, I didnt care to wait any longer for them to fix our meals. I ate what I could so I would no longer be hungry. Our waitress only came to the table to see how everything was. We were both exhausted by this point of the night and wanted the check as soon as possible to leave. We were in double cut for 2 hours with the worst meals and service we have had in a long time. I am incredibly upset with this entire experience and the fact that we spent so much money on disgusting food and terrible service. I would not recommend this...
Read moreBirthday dinner and cheer weekend - very disappointing. Our server seemed to be very busy and I say that bc all of our food was room temperature upon arrival.
Brad brought to table - salt overkill. Too hard.
Appetizer: Hanging bacon 3/5 — bacon very very sweet. Bread under bacon catching drippings, too hard not edible. Only a 3 because my family loves bacon otherwise a generous 2.
8 year old kids meal: cheeseburger, requested w/d received undercooked patty and hard bun. kids meal entertainment paper - had bbq fingerprint indicating reuse. For $16, overpriced frozen to grill patty. French fries - room temperature, similar to a fresh cut potato with coarse sea salt. Another 2.
Fiancée: filet cooked perfectly. side of garlic mashed potatoes. Not a fan of the presentation with the garlic on top but she enjoyed it. If you’re looking for creaminess and hot in temperature, pick something else.
Myself: vegetarian— ordered MiaDolce glass - wine not very chilled. bourbon glazed mushrooms, great portion — no glaze. I’ve had bourbon mushrooms other places (we live in DC) & these were very mediocre. Asked waitress if the glaze was coming out shortly and she mentioned, “well they’re glazed in the bourbon when they cook them”. She shrugged then smiled lol hilarious but seriously, I was no not trying to get wasted but for an individual serving named ‘bourbon glazed’…my expectation is to taste a glaze of some sort. Dish should be named ‘shrooms in a skillet no sizzle no bourbon’
second option: broiled asparagus, hollandiase on side. No flavor. Simple salt & pepper would have sufficed.
Very disappointed in the experience. We love to share experiences with our 8 year old and amongst ourselves. Have you ever gone out, gotten home and plainly stated, ‘I can’t believe I wasted an outfit on that’ well this is the one!
