This place went downhill. It was average 9 months ago and now it’s just terrible. We got the enchiladas because they were so good last time and this time it took 40 minutes for them to come out and there was like no meat in there. It was a slurry of a little bit of meat and cheese. They apologized for the wait for the food and even brought out an extra enchilada. But that one too had barely any filling. So they didn’t solve the problem. The manager didn’t even come back over and ask how the food was. We told the waiter. They comped one enchilada after we asked. Server was super nice and friendly but really disappointed with the food quality and consistency, and long wait. I don’t think the manager actually told the kitchen what the problem was. Or they know they are skimping. Whatever it is I now say don’t come here. My nephew also said his taco looked like mystery meat and wouldn’t eat it. Double cut is always booked solid, but def looks like the best food option at Kalahari since they got rid of the dinner buffet. Skip cinco ninos!
—— April 2023 Average food. Food did take a while to come out but we ordered apps too. Waitress was very nice. They never once had the shishito peppers. It’s on the menu but they just don’t have them. Take them off your menu then!
The top shelf margarita was very good. The queso and the guac were good. Guac wasn’t as small as people were saying for $11. I’m from nyc area and Guac is usually smaller and like $14 so I was fine with it. It was too salty though. Queso was very creamy and a little spicy and there was a lot of it. The chips were very good, and had some salt and spices on them, they even were served warm. And waitress refilled them. The Caesar salad has too spicy of a dressing. The chicken quesadilla was room temp (so the cheese was just like a gelatinous mess) and small. It had dark meat chicken chunks instead of the tender slow cooked breast meat that was a in the enchilada. The chicken enchilada was by far the best dish out of all I tried. I don’t usually like enchiladas but it was moist and tender chicken, the sauce had a great mild flavor and the tortilla was still a bit crispy.
For 4 adults and two kids it was over $200. If you go here get the queso and the enchilada and margaritas. Skip...
Read moreThis review is for not just the entire staff at Cino Ninos but for server Edwige Sahiri and server Paul Brown. My family and I love the resort and we have been visiting for a few years now twice a year. We live on Long Island. We take the trip out and it feels like a peaceful home away from home. We met Edwige last year during our visit and she made our experience extra special. It was extraordinary to see someone go above and beyond with a smile on her face and she made us feel so relaxed and taken care of. She made the birthday celebration we had extra special. We saw her again this year and I recognized her instantly, that beaming smile and her consistent kindness to customers even to rude customers, she beamed. I wanted to thank her on here. I had also met Paul Brown, a hard working young man that made my experience a real treat by not only being professional, making an incredible cocktail but also very accommodating over the few times I struggled with the menu and even got the receipts wet. He made an effort to also (while busy) make sure the time felt easy and comfortable. Thank you so much! Great, affordable, delicious food and drinks and if anyone has celiac, this place is excellent for you! Everything taste delicious. The guacamole is creamy. All tastes so fresh! My son doesn’t like veggies in his taco and they had them removed. I have a gluten allergy and I ate every kind of dish since we have been going. It tastes amazing, especially the carnitas. 😋 The drinks...
Read moreThis is the poorest excuse for a restaurant I've had in a very long time. The food was vulgar, the waitress rolled her eyes and HUFFED at us for having requests. I walked out and didn't order. My family sat with 4 kids not getting refills and the food took FOREVER then it was vulgar. Crying babies wanting drinks, repeated requests for drink refills and she was getting there. Kalahari should demand better quality and service from their "in house" restaurants. Ya spend a mint to come here, and everything is great except the food.
YET they get their 200 dollars. For food that was vulgar, service that was vulgar. Kalahari needs to do something fast the restaurants ruin this place. Look at the reviews. I want my 200 dollars back. Seriously}
UPDATE it was not 200 as they did not tip, They tried to complain, busy weekend and no one to complain too? NEVER got refills till AFTER bill, then another huff and puff eye roll. 4 kids almost 2 hours and no refills, all while she socialized at another table. She didn't even bring their food out, never came back to the table at all after order until bringing the bill.
talking to my daughters now for details to give them in email, it's worse then what I knew.
I have emailed, did not reference the review as my phone didn't show that...
