Love this place! Great burgers and fried chicken. Standard country fare, but so good, especially for the price! It is obvious why this place has so many people waiting to get in. You can dine-in or pick up. The pickup window is outside, so very convenient. Friendly, economic, and tasty. UPDATE 5/14/2021: I've been here 6 times, and every single time my burger has been cooked to my preference (medium-rare) perfectly! I ask for crispy fries, that's how they come, crispy outside, tender inside, and not burnt. The young miss at the pickup window is incredibly polite and positive. Place across the street should take a lesson from Bells, from food quality, price, and customer service. 6/924 UPDATE: Trying something new today. Fish sandwich and piece of chicken. Man, they are consistently good with everything I try. 5-stars again! 7/10/24 UPDATE: I am happy to say that, for the latter part of 2023, something happened that made the staff, food and atmosphere unappealing, but that is now fixed. For 5 months I wouldn't go because the food and service changed - so much so that my friends and I thought there was new ownership. The burgers were always overcooked, the fries undercooked, and you couldn't substitute the fries for a simple salad without using full price (which, unfortunately, is still the case). Thankfully, though, the fries are back to (mostly) crispy, I can get a consistent medium-rare burger, and the sides are hot! Yay!!! Now, I go...
Read moreLet me start this by saying I really recommend you stop into Bell's for food. Not only was the food delicious but the service was also great. Cheap food as well. I read about this place in the book The Valley of Death where the author talks about the generosity of Mr Bell after the tragic Toccoa Falls flood. I asked at the restaurant and Mr Bell is still around.
"Jimmie Bell is one of those special people whom I'll never forget. Not because he fed us food, but because he fed us with the sort of love and kindness which we so desperately needed at that time to feel comforted, and to feel as if we were really alive. He made a genuine attempt to understand our needs at a time when nothing in our world was stable and he showed us that we would be able to put life back together when we weren't sure we ever could. I'll never forget Jimmie Bell of Bell's Drive-in Restaurant in Toccoa, Georgia. Of all my Toccoa dam-break experiences, he will forever be one of the brightest memories I'll keep"-...
Read moreWhen I first Moved to Toccoa almost 3 years ago... Bells was the first place I eat and I can honestly say it was a breath of fresh air.. Home Town feel with Great Food and Amazing service.. However within the past 3 years I have seen the quantity and quality of food decline drastically since my first visit back 3 years ago.. The portions are now much smaller and prices much higher. The quality of food has declined as well Cheeseburgers with cold cheese (McDonald's ) philly Cheese steaks not cooked properly FF. Not cooked completely through.. Hopefully Bells can turn things around and quickly .My suggestion is stick with the things that made you a Great Restaurant in the first place.. Good Food Great Prices and Great Customer Service.. Bells is a Wonderful Hometown Restaurant if they will stop look and listen to what Customers are saying.. Don't be another Ho-Hum chain restaurant...Be the Great Place you were meant to...
