Bride here. I had the stereotypical 'cake lady canceled on me 5 days before the wedding' moment and I came here to ask if they would be willing to do it short notice, I only needed something small for 40 people. They were the only bakery in the Toledo area that said yes, all of the old ladies were very sympathetic about it because I was literally about to cry. The owner, Dorothy, said she was willing to do it for a great price and with the exact design I wanted but that the only stipulation would be that I would have to pick it up because her staff would be busy with a wedding expo that Saturday. Not a problem! I was more than happy to do that to have a wedding cake. Three days later and it's my wedding day. 10AM my father stops by to pick it up and calls to tell me that they had no record of my order and that my cake wasn't made. It was absolutely devastating. Again! I was originally going to ask Dorothy for a refund since she had me pay up front but since my wedding was later in the evening she promised to have it delivered in time for the reception. They made it, I later learned it was being wheeled in during my ceremony. I'm giving three stars for the experience and the presentation of the cake. It was similar to the design I wanted, but you could tell it was rushed; my mother quickly covered it with flowers from a deconstructed centerpiece to cover up frosting seeping out between decorative chocolate pieces. The staff were very friendly and I'm going to go back for any baking needs in the future. The taste was great! Obviously super fresh and the price was spot on and I really wish that I had known about them the first time instead of hiring the original cake lady, but if you book a bride that's just been left hanging the week of her wedding then please please please make sure you get it done! I recommend them for the cost, variety of flavors and fillings and the sizes they can do, but just make sure you get a receipt or check in with them to make sure...
Read moreI love Cake Arts!!! We used this company for our wedding cake. A friend recommended them to me, as she used them for her wedding a year before. Dorothy and her staff are so down to earth. They made me so many cake samples and these are not little samples, they’re a mini size cake! You get to really experience what the flavors would taste like unlike other places we went that gave a bite size sample or a cupcake.
Not only were they so generous in providing cake flavor samples, but the prices can’t be beat! Most affordable place I come across and my cake turned out absolutely beautiful! I found a picture off Pinterest and gave it to Dorothy and it turned out perfect!
Another bonus is they make you a free cake on your 1 year anniversary so you don’t even have to worry about keeping the top layer of the cake unless you want to!
I chose multiple flavors at no extra cost. Most importantly, I received so much feedback from guests after the wedding on how great my cake tasted! I also agree that it was delicious. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with...
Read moreI went here today for the first time. My mom used to come here and she bought flavoring for Christmas cookies when I was a kid. The women in here were so rude. I asked the man at the front if they had the flavoring I needed and he said to ask the women at the Dutch doors who were inside baking.. I said hello and the woman looked at me with a scowl and then looked away and wouldnt look up again or talk to me until I rang the bell. When I did she rudely said "ugh, can I help you?" And never came over to talk to me, nor did the other lady for the whole time I was there. They acted like we were bothering them. My mom and I couldn't even hear what they were saying and they were apathetic. I told the other lady back there that I had called twice about a frosting flavoring and I hadn't heard anything back yet. The woman was very rude and said "well, I have your number. I don't know if they have it in yet!". I don't think I'll ever go here again. Very unwelcoming and...
