This review is a Value City OVERALL review. I purchased furniture from Value City Easton (Columbus) on 3/5/2024 along with a 5 year warranty that protected everything, except pets. Beautiful furniture that I absolutely loved. By August 25th 2024 I had to call to utilize my warranty. Thats 5 months after buying it.The springs in the couch on the left side broke and some of the back cushions were distorted. I called, spoke with a nice person out of Columbus they asked me to send photos of the problem and explain exactly what was happening, I did that and they were swift to send a technician. The technician came to my house on 9/4/2024. He came with absolutely NO product to fix anything, no clue of how to fix anything and complained the entire time about his job! Took pictures AGAIN told me I should hear something in a week or so and left. October 16th 2024 comes around, I still have heard nothing. I called VC to see what was going on, they then told me they were waiting on "the right equipment" to come in and didn't have an ETA. I said okay and we hung up. December comes around, I call VC AGAIN to see what was going on and to get a date of when the tech came to my house so I could make a review. They told me, they couldn't see a date because he didn't put a date in or make notes. Odd, but okay! Never made a review because I was waiting for them to make it right. 1/7/2025 I receive a call to tell me a technician will be at my home on 1/8/2025 between 3-6pm. Low and behold guess who, the SAME technician. This time he comes in saying they didn't give him any of the right stuff to fix my couch, gave him the cushions to a couch that wasn't even mine. Said how he wouldn't have even been able to fix the springs, (THE MAIN THING) because he needs 2 people. Complained about how he is the only technician for VC who travels and he HAS to do all of Toledo, Fostoria, Sandusky and lower Michigan by himself. Asked me if I could keep all the extra pillows that were replaced so he didn't have to "play tetris" in his van and he didn't want to have to "load and unload" them back at the store (which I refused thats extra on my trash bill.) Talked about how he is overworked and overwhelmed and how frustrated he was! I called VC while this man was in my livingroom and spoke to a very nice lady named Sheila (Easton location) to explain what was going on. She tells me she is going to take care of everything and she was emailing everyone, including the manager of the service department (his boss.) Today, I get a call today from a lady named Victoria (Easton location) to tell me, this technician went back and told them that I threw a couch cushion at him! THE AUDACITY to lie because you don't want to travel this far, shame on you! To lie on someone for own personal gain while working with the public is insane and quite scary! Although, my sectional is STILL not fixed after buying the furniture outright WITH a 5 year warranty, I will NEVER again spend a $1 with Value City and I have been buying furniture from VC since I became an adult!
This is a review placed at the Toledo location because that's where the service department is and that's who dropped the ball! That technician that works there who does "all the traveling" is VERY...
Read moreHad a great experience at VCF on Monroe St. Toledo, Ohio with the sales person named Anjel. So professional, friendly & caring. Val at customer service was also so helpful, professional & friendly. But… The office manager was so rude, very un professional. I called had a question about my order asked to speak to Anjel. She (office manager) informed me Anjel was not working and any questions go thru her not the sales staff. I then started to ask when my order may be delivered and she said she couldn’t answer any questions because I had to pay my order in full. I tried to explain to her that all I wanted to know was if everything was in stock so I could pay the balance and that Anjel had told me I could do that and that I already had a tentative shipping date and I was just calling to confirm the date if order was now in stock. The office manager got very rude with me and said that isn’t how VCF handles business and she was going to talk to Anjel and until I pay my balance she was not going to give me info and hung up on me… needless to say my husband & I went into store few days later. Anjel & Val were working (not office manager) and we got everything taken care of in a friendly, professional and a very satisfying customer way. I think the office manager should be reprimanded and maybe take a look at how Anjel & Val take care of customers. Thank you Anjel & Val. You two...
Read moreValue city scammers! Avoid here and uniters at all costs! Not only do they want me to pay for broken furniture they want me to foot another bill to replace their furniture! Our westgate sectional decided to malfunction. The charging ports melted on one. The charging port malfunctioned on the other causing the cord to catch fire and burn holes in our rug. Luckily it didnt burn my wood floors because I smelled it. We then realized the footrest on one doesn't function any longer and the headrest on the other is completely shot. Same incident. Value City refuses to help due to not being within a year of purchase and so does their warranty company. The warranty company is telling me due to an accumulation of issues. This thing all connects and it all happened at the same time. This collection of furniture is so dangerous they decided to make it without the charging ports now. I just want a replacement sectional and you can have this mess back. Not to mention when it was delivered one of the consoles had to be replaced due to what smelled like a previous electrical fire. That's now in my basement taking up space. Can you help instead of giving me the warranty companies number any time I call? This is ridiculous! I'd like for a manager to contact me. Warranty is under Curtic due to someone not knowing how to spell. Number should be the same....
